Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral - [UNDER RENOVATION] The Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon (Vietnamese: Vương cung thánh đường Chính tòa Đức Bà Sài Gòn or Nhà thờ Đức Bà Sài Gòn; French: Basilique-Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Saïgon), officially known as the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception (Vietnamese: Vương cung thánh đường Chính tòa Đức Mẹ Vô nhiễm Nguyên tội; French: Basilique-Cathédrale Notre-Dame de l’Immaculée Conception), is situated in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Built by French colonists, it was initially called the Church of Saigon (French: l’Eglise de Saïgon) and constructed between 1863 and 1880. The name Notre-Dame Cathedral has been in use since 1959. It features two bell towers, each standing 58 meters (190 feet) tall.

War Remnants Museum - Managed by the Ho Chi Minh City government, this museum’s earlier version opened on September 4, 1975, as the Exhibition House for US and Puppet Crimes (Vietnamese: Nhà trưng bày tội ác Mỹ-ngụy). It was housed in the former United States Information Agency building. This exhibition was not the first of its kind for the North Vietnamese side but followed a tradition of showcasing war crimes, initially those of the French and later the Americans, who had been in the country since 1954.
Previously called the “Museum of Chinese and American War Crimes,” the name was changed in 1990 to the Exhibition House for Crimes of War and Aggression, omitting “U.S.” and “Puppet.” In 1995, after the normalization of diplomatic relations with the United States and the lifting of the US embargo the previous year, references to “war crimes” and “aggression” were removed from the museum’s title, and it became the War Remnants Museum.
