District 3 - Our journey begins at the Thich Quang Duc Memorial Monument in District 3, a poignant site where Thich Quang Duc famously self-immolated in 1963 to protest the South Vietnamese government’s persecution of Buddhism. After paying our respects, we’ll navigate through a bustling local wet market before arriving at the city’s largest flower market. This vibrant marketplace, a hub for both wholesalers and retailers, is primarily stocked with beautiful blooms sourced from Sa Dec City in Dong Thap Province.
-
District 3 - Next, we will visit the house at 287/70 Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City there. This place once hid more than 2 tons of weapons of the Saigon Rangers during the war against America to save the country, especially during the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than (1968). Today, the young generation and foreign tourists love to visit this secret weapons bunker in District 3 to learn more about the heroic fighting period of Vietnam’s ancestors.
-
Chinatown (Cho Lon) - District 5 - Next, we’ll transition from the bustling, humid local wet market to the city’s largest flower market, where vibrant blooms—primarily sourced from Sa Dec City in Dong Thap Province—fill the air with their sweet fragrance. We’ll pause at a local coffee shop for a refreshing cup of coffee, allowing you to unwind while soaking in the lively street scenes and enjoying soothing music.
Our journey continues to Thien Hau Pagoda, also known as the Mother of the Sea, a revered temple built by Chinese immigrants in 1760 to preserve their spiritual traditions in Vietnam. Remarkably, the pagoda’s materials were imported by boat from China, and today, it remains a cherished landmark in Chinatown, District 5.
- District 4 - Our journey continues to District 4, where we’ll visit a vibrant floating market. Here, you’ll experience the unique lifestyle of those who live, work, and trade directly from their boats. On our way back to the hotel, we’ll take you through a bustling culinary alley, famous for its wide array of Vietnamese street food. This area is a melting pot of flavors, with migrants from across the country bringing their regional specialties to life.
As our adventure comes to a close, it’s time to say goodbye. We hope you’ve enjoyed this experience and look forward to welcoming you on another occasion.
