Excellent boat service for glacier hike - We started our last day in Homer with no idea what to do. Stopped in their office on the Spit and Conner was very helpful. He gave us a few last minute options and added us to an already scheduled trip and even contacted the boat captain to upgrade to a bigger vessel to accommodate two more people. It was a smooth ride across to the trailhead and the boarding and disembarking was a breeze. Both the captain and ship mate were super friendly and helpful. Definitely use Cold Water Alaska for your boating taxi/tour needs while in Homer!

Perfect half-day excursion - The hike was excellent, with varied terrain, a beautiful destination - at the lake I topped off my water bottle with glacial ice -- and a dramatic finish, plunging down into Halibut Cove. Special thanks to Coldwater for taking me over on a perfect day even though all other customers had cancelled! And special thanks to Captain Curly John for an advantageous drop-off in spite of very low tide, and a thrilling scenic detour on the return.

Grewingk Glacier hike - We chose Coldwater Alaska for our Grewingk Glacier Hike. Curly John and Justin did a great job bringing us to Kachemak Bay State Park in their watertaxi. They were very punctual and told us interesting facts about birds, whales and the bay. The hike was pleasant and seeing the Grewingk Glacier and the icebergs in the lake was awesome!

Breathtakingly beautiful glacial lake - This was one of our most beautiful tours in Alaska. The glacier and the glacial lake are breathtakingly beautiful. We did the tour without the cable car. This was recommended to us in the local store and we would not have been able to do it in time. Maybe a hint: we asked on site if there were any bears. Answer was: no one has been sighted in two years... we met one right along the way, so watch out!

Awesome unforgettable experience! - Captain Dan and Connor were outstanding. A cool rainy morning gave way to an extraordinary hike to the glacier and while the trails were muddy at times, it was unforgettable. Dan and Connor kept it safe and fun and generously answered our questions. They helped us all see a humpback on our return.

Perfect - Great trip across with Captain John aka Curly! Very knowledgeable ..and punctual both to and from our hike. His deck hand Conor was great…such a happy outlook on life. The hike itself was beautiful.. easy if you’re used to hiking. I’d say a bit slick if rainy but we had a perfect day. Thanks again, Brigid & Jimmy

Where’s the trail map? - The trail is misleading as it show Grewingk Lake and not Grewingk Glacier. The boat captain drops you off at the State Park shore and you’re completely left alone to figure it out. We could have used a trail map. Just a suggestion, but we wouldn’t have felt so blind doing the hike.

Untrustworthy - I booked Grewingk glacier hike on line. Paid with credit card and got a confirmation on September 24th trip. Went to designated meeting point and local travel agent- Cold water Alaska never showed up. I called Cold water Alaska and was told the company already closed the business for this season and TripAdvisor/Viator was informed. Cold water Alaska went beyond their duty and helped me to ask for refund from TripAdvisor. I wasted whole day because of TripAdvisor’s mismanagement. This company doesn’t show any regret for the mistake . I travelled a lot and this is one of the very few companies I will never do business with again. Jennan
