Lala was the best tour guide! - 3 days trekking with Lala went by so quickly! She was an extremely knowledgeable guide, who picked us up from the bus station. Then we had a lovely lunch and left our bags at our beautiful hotel. We went to Cat Cat village to learn about the culture and Lala was really good at teaching us about the whole village and the hemp weaving. The full day of trekking Lala kept us entertained and we learnt so much about the culture of the rural villages and the different ethnic groups and their customs. We stayed in a lovely home stay that was basically a hotel and then went to visit Lala’s house which really taught us how local Vietnamese people live. Overall I would really recommend this tour and to support the local people.

Beautiful and homely homestay - We have had the best time at Hoa Chan Homestay. In a picture perfect location, you get to relax and have a true Vietnamese experience here. The family dinners in the evening are so lovely and a great way to meet other travellers. We also organised a trekking tour via the homestay which was incredible, had amazing views, and had a delicious lunch in a local home. I would definitely recommend staying here for your time in Sapa. Getting here is also super easy as they organise a pick up and drop off service!

The experience was truly terrifying. - The morning bus picked up the wrong customer, causing us to wait more than 1 hour at the hotel. Very tired. The driver also drove carelessly because he always looked at his phone. Our tour guide didn't explain much when we arrived at Ta Van. The motel was deserted and scary, especially at night because there were no other guests besides us. Maybe there aren't many tourists here. The experience was truly terrifying.

Bad experience - Sleeper buses from Hanoi do not have toilets and driver recklessly. The homestay is deserted, it seems like very few guests come here so it looks like an abandoned house. Luckily we returned safely. Really bad experience and service from this company. Will never come back here.

It's terrible - The only imressive thing is that Sapa is amazing. The room was dirty and full of rats and cockroaches. Staff cannot speak English to assist. You should avoid this company and homestay.

Poorly Planned Tour - Our tour started with us taking a sleeper bus to Sa Pa. Our bus left at around 9:30 PM, and we arrived in Sa Pa at around 4:15. This was a general bus from Hanoi to Sa Pa, not filled with people from the tour and we were the only ones. We were stranded in the cold and dark and did not know where to go. The tour operator answered quickly, and told us to wait until 6:00 AM to go to a restaurant where their staff would meet us. What were we supposed to do in a city where everything was closed and it was freezing outside for 1.5 hours? The operator told us our bus got in early, which makes no sense because it is about a 6 hour drive from Hanoi. A sleeper bus should not be an option if we were then to wait so many hours for the tour to begin. We arrived at the restaurant at 6 AM and had to wait in a freezing restaurant until 8 AM for the tour to start. Our guide was lovely and we had a great time with her. However, she allowed two other women join our tour, “helping us”, so I thought they were part of the tour. We sat down somewhere for a break, and they immediately started bothering us to buy something and would not stop for 10 minutes. I understand their position, but they should not have been allowed to join our tour and our guide should have said something when they were bothering us for so long. There is no plan for after the trek. We finished at 1 PM and had the rest of the day to do nothing. We were told there would be a cooking class, which there was not. Our room in the homestay had no heat and no hot water. Breakfast the next day was supposed to be at 8:00 AM, was served closer to 9. Overall, I am pretty disappointed with the poor planning and timeliness of the tour. I would not recommend this experience.
