Chi Lăng - Travel to Lang Son and then drive towards the Vietnam-China border, a journey of about 3 hours. The group will stop at Chi Lang, a 20-km-long structure formed by a narrow valley between two mountains. This site is linked to a significant Vietnamese victory in the past and was considered the strongest fortress of its time. You will have 1 hour to explore and visit the “Quy Mon Quan” gate, known as the Gate of Monsters, where many invaders entered Vietnam and were defeated by Vietnamese defenders.
Đồng Đăng - After lunch at a local restaurant in Dong Dang (lunch is not included in the tour. Your tour guide will assist in finding a local restaurant along the way. Lunch costs approximately 9 USD per person), continue your journey through the pass to visit Mother’s Temple and Dong Khe, a historical site where the Battle of Dong Khe occurred during the First Indochina War. The battle took place in Dong Khe, Tonkin Province, in September and October 1950, resulting in a Viet Minh victory.
Cao Bang - Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel in Cao Bang.
Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Ba Be Lake
Ban Gioc Waterfall - Detian Falls - After breakfast at the homestay, depart for Trung Khanh, located on the border with China. You will have the opportunity to meet the Nung people in the village of Phuoc Sen, a mountainous village renowned for its traditional blacksmith craft. The farming tools produced here are essential to the lifestyle, as seen in the surrounding rice paddies and fields.
Amidst these stunning landscapes lies the magnificent Ban Gioc Waterfall, spanning over 300 meters, with half in Vietnam and half in China.
Nguom Ngao Cave - After experiencing the awe-inspiring atmosphere of Ban Gioc Falls and capturing some fantastic photos, proceed to another natural wonder, Nguom Ngao Cave. This cave extends 2,144 meters underground and is filled with remarkable stalactites and stalagmites.
Ba Be National Park - Return to Cao Bang town and descend the snake pass to Ba Be Lake, where you will stay overnight in a traditional Tay ethnic family house. At the homestay, relax and unwind from the day while enjoying a meal of home-cooked local food.
Ba Be Lake - Hanoi
Ba Be National Park - Have breakfast with the Tay ethnic family. Embark on a boat trip on Ba Be Lake, where you can relax on board, spot wildlife, or take a refreshing swim in the cool, clean waters.
As you float on Ba Be Lake, admire the scenery of the surrounding karsts adorned with patches of wild vegetation and inhabited by various fascinating creatures.
The boat ride along the Nang River includes time to explore the stunning Ba Be Lake and the caves of Puong Grotto, where you can observe the stalactites and stalagmites formed by river erosion on the karst, as well as a bat colony several thousand strong.
Return to the homestay. Relax briefly before enjoying a delightful lunch prepared by the host (lunch is not included in the tour. Your tour guide will assist in requesting the host to prepare lunch if needed. Lunch costs approximately 9 USD per person). Then pack your belongings for the return journey to Hanoi.
Hanoi Opera House - Depart for the return trip to Hanoi, a drive of approximately 150 miles (230 kilometers). There will be a stop at some tea plantations on the hills before returning to your hotel in the vibrant city of Hanoi.
