Magical Hanoi - Both Bai din & Trang An, were magical experiences. We loved the serenity and the wonderful experiences at these locations. the Bin Din Temple is almost a marvel and being a Buddhist i count myself lucky to have been there & would love to go there again to spend more time as the tour allowed only about 2hrs. Trang An, almost a natural marvel with many natural water tunnels, various buildings and artifacts from the Trang Dynasty are very interesting but the Tours give us only 2 and Half hours to cover a very large area. It is recommended that you take at least 3 to 4 hours to cover this area in detail. Overall these two locations need to be visited by anyone visiting Hanoi .

Trang Am River Cruise - The caves Trang Am were awesome and floating in them was very exciting and a bit scary. There were some points were attention was definitely required: low hanging stalactites and other low hanging formations. The five passenger boats were also low with seats lower to the floor than a typical row boat but the style of the craft meets the demands of the environment though after some time you can feel uncomfortable because of the compact sitting position. The scenery was beautiful and the karst mountains were beautiful and should be seen.

Fabulous day north of Hanoi - Very long day - full of activities. Our tour guide Dylan was excellent. 2 hour journey from Hanoi. Scenery was great. Pagoda was amazing - travelled by electric trolley train to pagoda then walked around with Dylan explains the history. Buffet lunch was outstanding. Over 20 different dishes. Unique experience on the river 2 hours 4 guests to a canoe rowed by an elderly lady. We had the opportunity to row which was fun racing other guests on our tour bus. King Kong Island outstanding as was going through the caves. Last stop was a bike ride or trek up a mountain for great views. Overall well worth doing this tour

Very long day, wouldn't recommend - We were picked up 7.10am & dropped off 7.30pm absolutely exhausted. The temple was good however the boat ride @ Tranh An would have been better if a 1 hour return trip instead of 2 hours. Unfortunately the information regarding these tours do not give a complete picture of what to expect.

Avoid at any cost if you want to live - Tour guide’s English was very bad and could understand only a word here and there. Driver was driving at an uncomfortable speed on bumps and bends with no consideration to passengers. Also no rain courts provided even though we had to face poring rain. Lunch was blunt with goat meat.. We were put on a dangerous shaky bamboo boat and had to abandon the last cave where we had to almost lay in sleeping position to avoid a bump on the head. The tour guide pleaded not to complain as he will loose his job. They put 4 people an a shaky boat which can sink any time and the poor rowing ladies spoke no English. They were refusing to take us back and forcefully trying to take us on the third cave as there was a penalty on the poor ladies who were rowing. Had to shout at them and use google translate and take the whole commotion on video tape to escape the situation. Only when we mentioned police they agreed to take us back with much reluctance.
