A great tour to some not yet as popular locations off the beaten track - This was a great tour exactly what we were after. We enjoyed spending time off the beaten track connecting with some of the local people. We went a month after the typhoon and ended up as the only two people on the tour. We enjoyed the sites as they weren't over crowded. Our driver was great as was the tour guide. Although our tour guide was young, he was still very engaging just lacked some of the deeper knowledge around culture/history.

Trip to north vietnam - The Tour over the three days was absolut amazing. Our Guide Lim was so nice and accompanied us to the different places of north Vietnam. Our driver Long drove us safe and sound everywhere. Even with the difficulties of the taifun we could enjoy the trip. As a vegetarian could try out many different dishes which were very nice. Only thing to note is that the drives in between take a long time. But we stopped regulary to get some cofee. All in all: 10/10

Driving driving driving - Day 1 we were last to be picked up and had to sit at the end of the row which was very uncomfortable. The next two days we basically raced to get a better seat so we wouldn’t have to do that again. The first day had the most driving too… the lunch was pretty bizarre. Làm helped me to a pharmacy to grab some medicine which was really nice cuz I didn’t even ask. Hoemstay is not for the faint of heart, but one can adapt. There’s a shared restroom and dinner is family style like lunch. Family is welcoming. Day 2 the big day… the waterfall was overflowing and that meant we couldn’t do the boat raft womp womp… all that driving … but hey we got in some good shots after slipping through some deep slippery mud. Ba be lake was nice, some trash kind of like ha long Bay Area. Jungle houses are way nicer. We loved our room! Not too much water pressure but did the job. Meals were an upgrade for sure we loved it all. Staff was friendly too. Oh and the pool was a nice reward after another day of driving. Day 3 another day of driving but before that we did a 3km hike which we loved because we had the guide to ourselves and we had some awesome convos with Lắm (sp?) he is the best guide we’ve ever had compared to any other tours we’ve ever been on. He’s so sweet, funny, helpful, patient open and informative. Shout out to lắm for baby sitting all of us . He really made the trip better. Such a kind soul. And shout out to our poor driver sadly dont remember his name but apparently he was friends with Mr linh since high school. Feel bad for him driving on those crazy roads for all those long hours!

Very good experience - The places to visit are amazing. And I was very surprised with the accommodations. The areas were gorgeous and both homestays were beautiful and with nice food. I absolutely recommend the trip. Although Tinh didn't speak a fluent English, he did a good job and was very funny. I enjoyed him as a guide. The only bad side of the tour is that there are many hours on the road. But I think it's worth it.

Great taste of northern vietnam - Fantastic taste of sites of northern Vietnam. Jason was a great guide and Win Win, the bus driver was great. There is a bit of driving, however it was well worth it. My favourite part was the small villages. The first homestay accommodation was fairly basic but the surroundings excellent.

Halong Bay and Ba Be National Park - Great organised tour from pickup at our hotel and dropped backed, Good knowledge by our guide Sonny and great driving by the driver, we first got picked up and went to Ha Long bay and spent the night with 30 others from a different tour on a boat in HaLong bay, good food and tours of caves and kayaking, only negative would be the over crowded islands, went back to Hanoi for a stay at a very nice hotel, from there the next morning we got picked up by Sonny and the driver, there were only four of us on this tour, we went to the caves, waterfalls on the China border and then on to a farm stay in a village, next day on to Ba Be Lake National Park where we spent the night at a lovely guest house, next day we did a long boat trip up to a village, temple and back to the guest house for lunch and then drove back to Hanoi .The tour did a circuit of North Vietnam, it is a lot of driving but the accommodation is very good along with all the food, the driver ( sorry forgot his name) was excellent along with Sonny the guide who's local knowledge was first class, Sonny kept a eye on everything including dealings with locals making sure we weren't over charged, dealings with Linh Hue via WhatsApp was excellent from my first research via the internet in Australia, high would highly recommend this company, regards Bryan, Australian

beautiful landscapes, good food - We wanted to go to the falls and this tour was recommended by our hotel in Hanoi. Actually, this was supposed to be a group tour, but since we were the only two participants (low season) the tour was quickly converted into a private tour, which we thought was great:) The driver and our tour guide (John) did a great job. We felt in good hands at all times. John has always answered all our questions patiently and informatively and we could spontaneously try fruits, crayfish etc. on the way or rather, John has always provided us with “müsterli” if we were interested in anything. The first accommodation is with a local family and kept simple (homestay with shared bathroom, no air conditioning, clean and equipped with the necessities) The location is however beautiful, the whole village is surrounded by karst mountains and rice fields. By the way, for breakfast we had bananas with omelettes (we had already feared a little that there was soup ;)) The second homestay is a bit more modern and located on Ba Be Lake (even had a pool) and we liked it very much. By the way, every meal on the tour tasted great and was more than sufficient. The falls are pretty remote. When you book the tour you really have to be aware that the routes are long and you are most of the time on very winding roads over hills and through villages. But you are compensated by the great landscape and places, a bit off the beaten track. The stops on the track were not spectacular but a welcome change during the long journeys. We can definitely recommend the tour. Thanks again to our driver and John for the great service.

No refund after safe concerns after typoon. - I had contacted Mr Linh’s Adventures got a quick response and planed private trip to Ba Be -Ban Gioc for 4 days/ 3 nights, for 20th September. Paid my deposit of 30% late June. Was really looking forward to our trip, but then typhoon Yagi hit North Vietnam on 7th September, once I had heard about the typhoon 10th September , I contacted the tour operator asking the impact the typhoon had on the area we be going to, and wanted to make sure the trip would be safe. His reply was since your trip the 20th September it will be fine and I will update you. 13th September, I get a text saying the is over in Ba Be and has almost receded and SHOULD be back to normal in 3 days. After do a bit of research myself, and having friends reach out to colleagues they knew in VIetnam, I just didn’t feel this trip would be safe to take, specially as I would have someone else child with me. I emailed the company to cancel the trip stating my concerns about roads, bridges and landslides. After a few text it was pointed out to me that I was cancelling 5 days out from my trip and I would lose my deposit plus they wanted another 25% which I wasn’t going to pay and made that very clear. At no stage did the tour operator point out to me, when I first inquired about the typhoon that I lose my deposit and if I waited 7 days out they want another 25% and if I waited like he had asked until the Tuesday before the trip to cancel I would have been asked to pay the full amount for the trip I was planning on cancelling. After speaking to other people who had trips planned for Halong Bay and Northern parts of Vietnam (clearly with other companies ) who cancelled their trip just after I cancelled mine, were refunded their full deposit. As, I was cancelling for safe reasons and just not a change of mind, I feel the company should have refunded my deposit, specially since they were not give me basically no information of what areas were hit by the typhoon and where the damaged had occurred.

Disappointing - Most of the days are spent traveling on the bus. First day spent on the bus to get to the first home stay 8 hours from Hanoi . The first home stay was nice, clean food was tasty, not so peaceful and tranquil as they sung karaoke until gone midnight. Back on the bus in the morning we went to the cave which was really quite cool then onto the waterfalls unfortunately for us were super busy . Guide told us the bamboo raft were only for the Chinese side but I insisted as it was the main attraction and on our itinerary after that I feel the guide was a bit upset with me . We were then back on the bus 7 1/2 hours later arriving at mr linhs home stay was pitch black and we got stuck in the mud in the boat crossing to the home stay . Home stay is nice clean food tasty but repetitive. Didn't have the home stay vibe though just hotel business just a name as mr linh himself lives in hanoi. Next day Ba be lakes on the boat, beautiful also another cave which was really cool. We walked along a path near a small village and back on the boat , lunch and then another 7 1/2 hour bus drive back to Hanoi . The attractions and home stay are lovely but it just feels like your taken there to take a photo and move on . I would not recommend this trip as most of it is spent on the bus it literally sucked the life out of me . The trip needs to be revised.

Too many kilometers, to be avoided at all costs if the weather forecast is bad - Don't do it if the weather forecast looks bad! 900 kilometers by minibus in 3 days to always be in the clouds and see nothing. Furthermore, the first accommodation presented as "rustic because authentic homestay" is in fact more than basic and totally unsuitable for low temperatures (it was 6° at night without heating). Expensive and overall disappointing and not very exciting experience, especially if the weather conditions are bad...
