A fun experience you'll be glad you did - This was a fun class and i'm really glad i did it. I'm fascinated by almost everything and learning pottery (or at least trying) was always on the list. This was my first time ever attempting my hand at clay and we had an amazing teacher who was a true alchemist! She made it look so easy but was very patient with us and we definitely needed it. But we did come out with some pieces we were proud of and got to take back home! We learned about the origins of the techniques and about different clay's that are used in the pottery world. It takes some getting used to but once you've mostly got it, it gets really fun trying to shape different things. It's a lot harder than it looks so we did get a bit of help from our teacher. Hard to beat the price for this experience especially since you'll get to keep one of your pieces if you want. The first one comes included with the class and i believe each additional piece you want fired runs about $5 USD/each. With 5 days left on our trip and (we went to the Friday morning 8 or 8:30) we ended up having to go back in the old quarter (stayed in Tay Ho) on the day we we're leaving (Wednesday) to get our pieces. The process sometimes can be longer than stated on the site so plan this out early in your stay. They wrapped them all up nicely and everything made it back to the U.S. in tact, it was a wonderful and rewarding experience. This place gets the recommendation stamp, for sure.

Lots of fun!! - We thoroughly enjoyed our pottery session. We got to make as much pottery as we liked and then could chose 1 to fire, included, and pay a small fee for any additional. Allow a few days to collect so do this on your first day in Hanoi.

Had a really good time! - We took a tour to the potters' village, it was very interesting to be exposed to different types of pottery. The guide was attentive and very knowledgeable and answered many of our questions. After the tour we did a stone workshop ourselves and went home with souvenirs. Highly recommend!

Amazing teacher loved it - Amazing experience! Our teacher was so kind and nice. Showed us techniques and allowed us to create so many pieces of pottery. Great class well worth the money. Unfortunately our time in Hanoi was limited and it’s about 2 full days turn around time so we were not able to keep the pieces but given a credit to bring another item home. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Highlight of this trip - Signed up for the morning class. It was conducted by a lady, she is EXTREMELY patient and fun to work with. It was my 1st time trying such workshop. I was struggling, yet the lady instructor was so so so calm and patient with me (thank you so much 😭) The class went on for 2.5 - 3 hours, managed to make 5 pieces. Brought home 2 as a keepsake.

You can throw a pot too! - We were in a group of for which left plenty of time for the instructor to attend to each of us. He was very patient and helpful and we all ended up with a few nice pieces, covered in clay to show we had indeed achieved some presentable pots. They glazed them for us and the result was impressive, we are well pleazed with what we got. This was ondeed a very pleasant afternoon spent learning a new skill and we would recommend you try it too.
