Excellent guide experience - The volunteer guides for the Ho Chi Minh museum were amazing, they were fun to speak to (one told me the fortune of my palms) and very informative about the museum! I would definitely recommend having any of the guides show you around the exhibits

A Treasure of Cultural Exchange - My best friend, her mom and I were visiting Hanoi for only three days during a whirlwind tour of Vietnam. Several websites and video guides suggested the Hanoi Free Private Tours and we were happily surprised that we could set one up with just a few hours' notice. But the best was yet to come. Our guide, Gracie, met us at our hotel and offered to come up with a customized tour, skipping some of what we'd seen the day before, and showing us sites with historical and cultural significance that deserved the knowledge and context an experienced guide could give. And wow, she was amazing! Gracie helped us understand thousands of years of history, and as we toured the Ho Chi Minh museum, and its surrounding neighborhood, she really helped us understand how the Vietnamese people have successfully defended their culture and sovereignty against some of the most powerful governments in world history (the Chinese, then the French, and most recently the Americans). The three of us are American, so we appreciated that our peoples can share understanding and compassion for each other. We ended our tour at Chùa Một Cột, aka One Pillar Pagota, which is a rebuilt Buddhist temple that was breathtaking and was a fitting end to a tour rooted in genuine cultural exchange. The Hanoi Free Private Tours has been the highlight of our trip so far and I would give it—and Gracie—six stars if I could!

One amazing evening - I contacted Hanoi Free Private Tour Guide as I wanted to get closer to the culture and people of Vietnam. The company made some suggestions and we arranged the date. Thu came and picked me up. She had 5 students waiting to meet me, all very excited but very shy. We went to market to buy vegetables and they began to ask questions. Back at the office we assembled dishes and had more fun sharing food and conversation. Truly great people and a fantastic company.

A project that should win an award - As an Anthropologist I can affirm this is one of the best project I have ever seen. It engages students with foreigners and vive- versa, and they are firmly based on non-commercialize principle, ie, no money involved.

Best experience in Hanoi - We just heard about this tour from our hotel. Its free, you just have to pay for the guides entrance fee or maybe drinks. We absolutely loved it! We went to the acient house, train station, train street (and saw the train), a secret pagoda and the prison. We did the tour with Quynh and Linh. They were both absolutely lovely and told us so much about the the culture and every places history. We would recommend this tour, its a must do in Hanoi.
