Action packed and tons of fun! - Major shout out to our cruise tour guide Harry Potter for making this a memorable experience! Tour company sold us a limousine transfer to/from Halong Bay but somehow a bus mistakenly picked us up instead. Harry was blindsided by this error, but he went out of his way to make things right. Great communication and fantastic energy! Our cruise cabin was comfortable. Heads up: the 2D/1N schedule is jam packed and there is not a lot of downtime. Be prepared to hustle! Food and entertainment was awesome. Pro tip: bring your own water and room coffee as these items are not free. Staff gave me a surprise birthday celebration that included a cake and candles. They also sang Happy Birthday to me in English and Vietnamese. Wowee!!! So nice of them! Also wanted to thank Jenny from the Block for the great pictures and videos. You guys are amazing! 🤩

Go if you have extra budget - The staff and crew were lovely, the boat was ok, Ha Long bay is packed with tourists but beautiful. This is a good trip to take in Viet Nam. However, it is not a great trip. The five hour drive from Hanoi = losing half your day and is a morning drive. The cruise itself is enjoyable but the weather has to be good - we had one day of clear skies and one of cloudy and it makes a massive difference. The boat itself needs some work. The finishings need to be renovated and changed. The staff are great! The food was good not great - the drinks are excellent - but expensive! - try the salt coffee. The caves in Ha Long are bloody excellent - seriously recommend! All in all, go if you have extra budget and want to see the Decending Dragon (Ha Long) Bay! If you have to choose this or Ha Giang - go Ha Giang.

Really one half-day one night and one half day the next day. On the ship. - We drove around for two hours, picking up 26 people before we left Hanoi. we got on the ship at approximately 12:30 PM. It really wasn’t two days one night. It was one half-day one night and one half-day the next day on the ship. The ship itself was nice. The room was perfect and clean. The balcony was delightful. The food was very good and the service was good. On the second day if you wanted to go to the caves, they left at 7:10 in the morning. I’m thinking that’s a pretty ridiculous time to plan an activity.other than that we had a very nice time. I would recommend it but for $300 it was a pretty short experience.

You can do it, with restrictions. - The excursion was booked in advance via TripAdvisor, there were no problems with the booking and the subsequent processing. You are contacted the evening before and the pickup is confirmed, which is very good. The trip took place in a very good bus and you felt well looked after the whole time. On the way there, the obligatory visit to the pearl farm is of course a must, you can use it as a toilet break and for a coffee, it's all very informal. When you arrive at the harbor, the ship is already waiting and after a short while you board, where you have lunch which is included in the price of the excursion, drinks are extra. During and after the meal you are given information about the schedule, the room number is given and the keys are distributed. Then you have the opportunity to move in and shortly afterwards you continue. A smaller boat takes you across to a place where you can go rafting (several people) or kayaking (max. 2 people), beautiful area but not very spectacular. Then you cross over to TITOP Island, there is a small beach on the island, but the "highlight" is the viewing point which you reach via about 500 steps, you have a good view of the surrounding area and can take photos. After all that, you go back to the boat, you have time for yourself or you can take part in the sunset party, which means that loud music is played and you have the opportunity to drink a few cocktails before going to the included dinner, which is OK, but not a culinary highlight. After dinner you have the choice between a karaoke party and squid fishing, both mediocre. Then it's time to go to bed, because even the fish in Halong Bay want to sleep 😀. In the early morning you have the opportunity to have a small breakfast before going to the surprise cave. This is impressive and you spend about an hour there, followed by the return trip to the boat. Pack up your things and move out of the room, have a brunch during the return trip and you're back in the harbor. Conclusion: - the price is OK - the organization is good - transport is very good - the ship could use a renovation - the excursions are OK, but only OK - the entertainment program on board is nothing - the food is OK, but only OK - prices for drinks are completely excessive - all organizers offer the same program, from what you can see

The good, the bad, and the ugly - I rarely post reviews but this felt warranted. The Good: the wonderfully diverse people we met from all parts of the globe, and seeing the spectacular geology for the first time as we cruised around the bay. The Bad: 40 minutes late pickup from hotel and 50 minutes late pickup going back to Hanoi. Food was barely edible, meat was grisly and soaked in sauces to hide the poor quality, fish was extraordinarily fishy, and everything fried was greasy. Tours were a bit touristy. Felt like cattle. The Ugly: sewage and trash in water, visible near or afar, fumes from the many cruise ships. Sad that this treasure is not treated as such.

Don't book via viator - They asked for extra money after onboading as Holiday surcharge. Viator was also not helpful at all. Better book offline because you get lesser charged and less hassles. Booked more costly on viator along with more extra charges

Boxed into a corner for extra money - They charged extra money in name of holiday surcharge even though it was not mentioned on trip details unlike other cruises. They said that i had to pay and were very rude for this payment. Even viator did not help out. Booking directly through is better and cheaper. Disappointed with both viator and cruise owners.
