The Perfect Halong Bay Day - We had a long list of demands from the type of boat to the food supplied. They fulfilled all our demands perfectly and created an extremely memorable day

This tour surpassed expectations - We were a group of 9 adults (friends/family). We truly enjoyed our tour with Jade Cruise even if we had some fog and rain during the day. The ship is modern, government inspected and clean. The lunch was excellent and we all enjoyed learning how to make spring rolls using safe food practices (disposable gloves were provided). When they served us the cooked rolls we made as a snack, you could see that not all passengers would be successful as chefs, myself included. The other activities were also fun including the kayaking. Finally, we also learned a lot from the ship onboard guide. Thanks to the ship staff and Jadesails for making our 2020 Valentine Day memorable.

Definitely luxurious - The entire trip was as described and its definitely luxurious from start to finish. The ride was so comfortable I almost fell asleep and the meal was great as well. The cruise ship is new and very well maintained. Definitely recommend this tour to everyone!!

Excellent 1 Day Cruise! - Anyone looking to see a little bit of paradise, I suggest you take this one day cruise of Halong Bay with Jadesails!!! This tour is luxury but at a great value! You’ll get an opportunity to sail amongst some of the most beautiful islets in a luxury ship and attending to by the nicest staff. This was truly a great experience from the limousine pickup to the sunset party at the end! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Great cruise- lousy transportation - They should get our 5 star but the private pickup (really expensive) was done with an unfriendly driver, old shabby car. At one point the driver stopped for toilets and drove away without giving any additional instruction. We found the car parked somewhere, locked with our coats inside. It was very cold and windy. We went to a building next to the toilets where they told us that the driver went to drink coffee somewhere... We do recommend the cruise, great boat, nice guide and staff, tasty food but better use their bus transportation than pay extra for a lousy experience.

Pleasant New Years eve - The only day available for us to try out Jade Sails was New Years Eve. It was always going to be long day with pick up around 7 a.m. Limousine transport in Vietnam is invariably a multi seated Ford Transit or similar. Sit in the back row at your peril. The freeway to Halong Bay is impressive apart from the countless joins in the road for bridges. Our driver felt the need to slow considerably out of comfort and courtesy. No warning was given to an impromptu stop at a pearl farm just before our destination. It was probably a comfort stop/opportunity to purchase jewellery but who knows. It was at this stage that you realise you are one of many Limousines and guests on their way to the cruise. The vessel and cruise were very good. The lunch was possibly the best food I had in Vietnam. 7 hours later you are back on your way home. We got back to our hotel at 7.30 pm, just in time to get changed and head out for News Years Eve. PS the day itself was overcast and smoggy, a far cry from what you see in brochures. You have been warned.

Good, but mediocre. Not up to expectations. - Pros: Fun staff English friendly Overall good places we visited Cons Not up the expectations from pictures provided Food was very basic and not representative of Vietnamese cuisine Pit stop had a pearl shop catered to tourists purchasing pearls, not for everyone. To expand on this review I would've liked more interactions with the tour guide discussing more about the history of some of the islands and experiences that were had on the trip. Overall not bad but definitely left a funny feeling given that the pictures were vastly different than the cruise itself.

Not bad, but disappointing. - Our tour guide was great and we enjoyed all the sights we saw in Halong Bay. But nothing about this experience felt "deluxe" and there were many issues. The food and boat were unremarkable, much less nice than what we saw in the pictures on this site. There was also no air conditioning on the boat, which was especially problematic when we had to wait 45 minutes for a lost couple and the crew wouldn't let us go up top where the air was more open. But the worst part was the bus ride, which had the opposite problem: it was way too cold and the seats were very uncomfortable. And there were extra charges for everything (towels, water, even a rinse after swimming). I wouldn't go so far as to recommend against doing this tour, but you should have realistic expectations about what you are getting for your money.

Horrible experience!! Nothing luxurious - There was nothing luxurious about this tour.Took us in a junkyard board claiming its luxurious. The food was very very limited felt like having snacks. 40 minutes at tea top island, 40 minutes in some stupid cave and 25 minutes kayaking. That is the whole trip. The guide Mr Dave ( What he called himself ) was a racist man. Was only talking nicely to White people but was extremely rude with me and my friends since we are brown. I really don’t know if this is the meaning of luxury then what can you expect from a cheap tour?
