Thank you for the unforgettable experience - I had the pleasure in going to Ha Long Bay with this company that I booked through Klook. From start to finish, the 12-hour journey was comfortable and awe-inspiring. I enjoyed every moment of it, thanks to the driver, Mr. Tuan, and my tour guide, Tony, who was incredibly knowledgeable and made every experience seamless and memorable. The communication of expectation of the day on WhatsApp was thoroughz We took the luxury bus (highly recommend) who picked us up at our hotel in the old quarter promptly at the time they told us they would pick us up. We got a rest stop for snacks/potty, and also got to see a cool oyster farm. It was a brief stop and you don’t have any pressure to buy anything. We then got to the boat, where the buffet was laid out nicely and were fed before we even left the dock. On this excursion, we went on a cave tour, boating (you can choose between a bamboo boat with about 10 people or kayaks), and then go to Titop Mountain where you have a number of recreational things. Tony did a very good job keeping us on track with time (but if you’d like to take your time, I suggest doing the two day tour). We ended with a sunset cruise with music and dancing and it is an experience I will not soon forget. PSA-Please, please, consider tipping your tour guides! They work very hard every day to help make your experience memorable and enjoyable! Thank you for the unforgettable experience.

So worth the experience!! (Especially if visiting Hanoi) - For a one-day trip (8am-9pm for the entire day), this experience is absolutely worth it! They provide hotel pickup and drop-off ,making it super convenient. The trip includes a stop at Viet Pearl, a pearl production store where you can learn about the process and shop for souvenirs. The cruise itself offers a complimentary drink and a buffet to enjoy. It makes three stops, each filled with exciting experiences, followed by the chance to witness a stunning sunset and a small afterparty on the rooftop. A big shoutout to our travel guide, Phạm Thanh Sơn! He made the trip fun, informative, and ensured our safety along the way. Shoutout to the driver transportation as well!

Amazing Sea Lion Cruise - The Sea Lion Cruise was excellent as it allowed my family to connect to the natural wonders of Ha Long bay. From caves to desert islands, this was an amazing way to spend a holiday. Our guide, Hue, was fantastic, as she gave us clear instructions to keep us safe as well as guiding us through the caves, teaching more about them. I recommend you to go on this cruise as you will be in for an extraordinary experience through the Ha Long bay.

five-star garbage - Halong Bay is a spectacular sight, but it doesn't change depending on the boat you use to see it. This five-star cruise is touted in hotels (no doubt with hefty commission) using flashy brochures, but this boat will not take you to any location, and offers no additional activities that aren't being done by every other class of boat i.e. the sole difference is the boat itself. This was my fourth visit to Halong Bay; I first went 25 years ago in a small, wooden fishing boat and my memories of that are infinitely more positive than the overpriced USD80 trip I took this time, and I only opted for that because I wanted to give a really good impression to a relative who was visiting Vietnam for the first time; I suspect the opposite happened. The so-called "Limo" that takes you to Halong Bay is little more than a mini-bus with plush seats and, of course, stops at ridiculously expensive tourist shops en route selling goods that can be purchased far more cheaply in stores in Hanoi. Upon arrival, our group was left waiting while the guide chased around trying to find other participants. When we finally boarded, I was at first pleased that the number of people who were occupying the boat was reasonably small; in fact, the glossy pictures showed that each of the dining tables was set out for four people. That is false advertising. In their desperate attempt to maximise their money, they had set out each table for six. Suddenly a second very large group was herded into the dining room with annoucements (which I ignored) that we all had to change places. What that led to were outrageously cramped conditions in which people could barely get out of their seats without forcing other people to move, the buffet queue was unacceptably long and, despite claims, food was not replenished. The quality of the food was disgraceful; one meat dish which comprised more gristle than chicken, cheap seafood, and cold French fries: utter garbage and, even worse, was the "spread" for the ostensible party later in the evening: the cheapest snacks imaginable and a generous 1 cm of red wine that doubled as paint stripper all of which added to the ambience of blaring recorded music on top of the freezing cold, wind-swept deck with no indoor alternative. The direspectful, indeed aggressive manner in which passengers are treated by poorly trained guides should result in dismissals: constantly barking instructions through loudspeakers, forcing people to move indoors when the boat is still far from the quayside and demanding full attention for their grandiose statements all show that these people do not have the first notion of customer service and fail to grasp that a cruise should be a relaxed experience, not a series of military manoeuvres. The stops at the different destinations are so short that they prevent any real opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the locations, the whole place is ludicrously crowded and accompanied by loudspeaker announcements threatening to leave people behind if they do not board within the precise stipulated second. If I had wanted those kinds of experiences I would have taken a holiday in Pyongyang. There is nothing - absolutely nothing - five-star about this cruise. If I ever go back, I'll take a wooden fishing boat.

Overrated tour but their tour guides is my main concern - Bus Transportation: We all got picked up from the Opera house however then we went on a multi-stops to pickup others from different hotels, we wasted a good 1 hour just to circling in the Hanoi centre just to do this. The bus was fully packed although there was 2 toilet breaks in the 3 hours journey, the tour guide only allowed us to stop at the first local service station for 5 minutes and told us not to buy anything from there. Then we stopped again in a pearl factory/shop (not in the itinerary) and again we wasted another hour just to stop there for a tour while it was clearly a tourist trap. At the pier: We had a whole bus load of people standing in the middle of the ticket hall, and the tour guide was running around and we were confused where to go and what’s next. The whole organization was very poor indeed. On the boat (Lunch buffet): Both the boat and Halong bay were beautiful but the lunch was not something even close to the pictures in the listing. The rice was rock hard and everything were cold. Service from the boat crew was good. So all in all the so-called “premium” cruise I agree but the foods is nothing close to standard at all. The few stops within the journey: Don’t be fooled by those multiple stops of caves, kayaking and hiking in the itinerary. You barely have time in each of those and probably max 30mins per activity. Each stops have a huge amount of queuing to do and you would rushing back to the boat by the tour guide or they will leave you behind. The super loud music party on the boat journey back: On the journey from Halong bay back to the pier. The tour guide started a disco-like party on the deck with very loud music, however the snack is only served there. There were quite a few families with young children and those parties are clearly not for them but they smartly placed the food tray right in front of the massive speakers. Snacks were not enough and by the time I waited for the queue disappear (I don’t want to stand in front of those speakers with 150dB music playing), I realized most foods were gone and they were not replenishing them. My main concern is with the tour guides: Within our boat there were two tour guides onboard, each looked after a group of tourists. I have no comment on my group’s tour guide as I know he needed to rush in every spots just to ensure we are on schedule. He has broken English and sometime hard to understand what he is talking about but I am not expecting a native-english speaking tour guide so I think he tried his best. However my main frustration is with another tour guide. In the ‘Surprising Cave’ tour, there was a huge queue along the way, it is slow however everyone been quite disciplined waiting both outside and inside the cave. I was with my 6-years old waiting patiently inside the cave however one man was jumping the queue and start pushing my son on those slippery rocks. I shouted and I pulled my child to me and let that guy through. I questioned why he is pushing the back of a kid in such dangerous place and he refused to apologized and acknowledged his wrong-doing. Eventually I know he is the tour guide from the other group on the same boat and he was probably just trying to rush back to the boat before everyone else. Nevertheless, his attitudes and behaviors is absolutely disgusting. I have contacted the tour company afterward and asking for his name, it’s more than a week now since this incident happened and until today at the time of writing, the tour company is not yet responding to my written request at all. Conclusion: The place is beautiful, and the cruise is an added bonus, however avoid those typical tour company especially Cozy Vietnam. With those multiple pickup/drop-off and wasting time in those tourist traps. They are just too big in Vietnam and just care about getting the different stops done and get most money out from your pocket rather than caring on your experience. Their tour guides is a disgrace and customer care is non-existent if you have any questions or problems. We promised to ourselves we will not sign-up for any more tours from Cozy again.
