Highlights
  • Old Quarter - Nestled at the heart of Ha Noi, a city that’s constantly evolving with each passing hour, the Old Quarter stands as a quaint enclave, its narrow lanes lined with traditional brick homes, defying the march of time while simultaneously striving to keep pace with the city’s modern pulse.

This historic sector was once a thriving hub for traders and craftsmen to peddle their wares. The Old Quarter is a labyrinth of tiny, winding streets, each named after the merchandise that was once sold there, such as Hang Bac (Silver Product), Hang Ma (Paper Product), Hang Go (Wood Product), among others.

Encircled by the serene Hoan Kiem Lake, visitors to this distinctive relic of history are transported to a world apart from the urban sprawl. They can delve into the simple yet vibrant life of locals from a century past, devoid of towering buildings, congested traffic, and upscale boutiques. Here, the scale of life may seem reduced compared to the city’s modern expanses with their skyscrapers and malls, but the area’s energy and spirit remain undiminished.

Excellent Food Tour - Our guide, Tilly, was fantastic. The tour included delicious bánh mì, varieties of phở, coffee and a visit to the train street. Everything was well organized with clear communication and wonderful service by our guide-- would absolutely recommend to those looking for a walking tour in the Old Quarter.

Lovely tour experience! - Sarah was an excellent tour guide - super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable!! Lots of laughs and shared interests on the tour. It was also a super lovely chill pace and not rushed at all which meant you get to really enjoy the scenery, food, and convo. Food was also super tasty everywhere and you get to try some local dishes you otherwise wouldn’t have! Highly recommend!

Amazing food tour - Chloé is probably the best and most friendly tour guide I’ve ever had. Her knowledge about everything I asked her was amazing, and she has such an easy way to explain everything with a perfect English😍 Can’t wait to be back in Vietnam and see her again and do another tour together, thank you!!

Our tour guide Sarah is a rockstar! - Phung Minh Yen (Sarah) is incredible. She took our group to six restaurants that are individually unique in its own way. We enjoyed food from all of these restaurants, learned a lot of culture of Vietnam and interesting knowledge of this beautiful city of Hanoi. Sarah is also very energetic and just pure FUN. I highly recommend Sarah to be your tour guide. She is a rockstar!

Super nice food tour in Hanoi - Had a great experience with some amazing local food at places I never would’ve found myself! Also had the best tour guide, Hannah! We had 3 main dishes, one desert and a Vietnamese coffee and that was the perfect amount!

Yummy food at a good pace! Come ready to eat! - Ruby has a great command of the English language and hence communicating was easy. She arrived early at our hotel and finished the tour very timely. The pace was good and not rushed at all. We had time to savour the dishes and ask lots of questions. She even made sure to check for allergies and ordered dishes that catered to the ones in the group who had restrictions. Ruby is very knowledgeable and willing to share, and we later found out she does several other tours as well. We had a great time tasting and knowing about the quick story/context behind each food. Make sure you come ready to eat! Thanks Ruby (& Liz)!

Absolutely NOT worth it - This was not a good tour. We did not learn anything about the origin and history of the dishes we ate. Our guide did not actively engage with the group - she ordered the food and then went away to talk with the restaurant staff. Also, extremely poor accomodation of vegetarians. I was given a bowl of noodles (no broth) with soy sauce multiple times instead of a vegetarian version of the dish the group was trying. Zero effort to actually serve an alternative of the dish - just soy sauce and noodles. Super disappointing.
