Ban Gioc Waterfall - Detian Falls - Ban Gioc Waterfall stands as one of Vietnam’s most stunning natural wonders. Located nearly 5 kilometers from the famous Ban Gioc Waterfall, Nguom Ngao Cave was discovered in 1921, opened to tourists in 1996, and designated a national-level scenic site in 1998.

In the Tay ethnic language, Nguom Ngao translates to “Tiger Cave.” Legend has it that the cave was once home to numerous tigers, which were eventually hunted by locals to ensure their safety. This led the Tay people to name the cave “Nguom Ngao.” Another tale suggests that an underground stream with pebble beds flows into the Quay Son River, creating an echo that resembles a tiger’s roar, thus giving the cave its name.

Nam Tra Waterfall - Known as the “Mountain Angel Eye” or “Phja Piot” in the Tay language, which means a mountain with a through-going hole, this natural wonder is located in Quoc Toan commune, Trung Khanh district. The “Mountain Angel Eye” is essentially a circular cave about 50 meters in diameter and 50 meters high above a lake. The cave’s current elevation is primarily due to recent tectonic uplift. It has formed in a tower karst landscape at an altitude of approximately 650-700 meters above sea level, featuring karst towers and cones interspersed with numerous lakes, collectively known as the Thang Hen Lake System. A unique characteristic of this lake system is that the lakes are interconnected, with both surface and underground flows, causing the water levels to fluctuate seasonally, sometimes quite rapidly. As visitors make their way to the “Mountain Angel Eye,” they may encounter Nam Tra Lake, a 15-hectare body of water that appears during the rainy season.
