A must do! - A fantastic and really informative tour. Rachel, the tour guide, explained everything very well. It was fascinating to see how they made the traditional items. Being able to take part and try out making them was fantastic and getting our conical hat as a souvenir was great. The lunch that was provided was absolutely delicious and there was a lot of food! I would highly recommend this tour.

Excellent! - An amazing tour to bring out your creative side. You get to paint your own conical hat, learn how it is made and take it home with you. The tour guide and driver were very kind, friendly and informative. Local food provided is delicious and caters for vegetarians. You also get involved in creating the lacquer art, which is fun! And of course you get your Instagram worthy pictures at the insence stick village. Thanks for an excellent tour tinny!

10/10 experience - Our guide was Vu, he was excellent, he taught us so much about the history of the Vietnamese art traditions. We met Mr dung who let us paint some laquer art in his studio and also shared tea with us. We met a friend of Vu while we were in the conical hat village and they shared stories of the Vietnam war ( as he was a solider for 10years during) and drank tea with them. We had a beautiful homemade lunch that tasted fantastic proceeded with painting and attempting to make a conical hat. We learned about the different types of conical hats and the different materials used to make them as well as the more traditional working hat to the luxerious fashion statement hats. Lastly we went to the incense village where Vu took some photos of me and my friend ( he is a very talented photographer) over all it is definitely worth the price. There’s more things we did but it’s just too much to write about. I would definitely recommend doing this tour if you love art or learning the traditions of the country.

Villagers creating Traditional crafts/ a window into rural Vietnamese history and culture. - Our leader Ha was such an incredibly knowledgeable and solicitous guide. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about these iconic art and craft forms and the villagers who have passed their skill and artistry down from generation to generation. The lunch also was prepared lovingly and beautifully presented in the conical hat maker’s home. We will treasure this experience from our time in Vietnam.

Don’t miss this - Highly recommend - Excellent value for money. Highly recommend this trip. Had tea and listened to some stories from a lovely local lady (highlight for me) recollecting about the war and modern life. Lunch was very nice at a local home ( lots of food) where the conical hat activity is. Very cool to see how these hats are made and a chance to get creative with your own hat. Lacquer art activity is very chill no pressure to buy your creation (300VND) at the end - really appreciated the artistry effort in this art craft. The incense farm was definitely for the photo op - was cool to see the process of them being made can buy some at the end (no pressure Jasmine was popular in my group). An all round fantastic day. Guide Vụ was also really nice and was informative. Also took some great pics for the group.

An incredibly beautiful trip - This tour to the incense village is really something special and is only offered through Tinny Travel. We visited a private family and drank tea with them. The lacquer art and hat painting are part of the tour and are really fun. The meal with the family was fantastic. All in all, a wonderful trip. My personal highlight was the incense sticks. On the way there, you can watch the locals at work. Highly recommended. Thank you again for doing the tour even though there were only two of us. That is not a given in Vietnam.
