Day 1: HALONG BAY - LAN HA BAY

Old Quarter - Pick up & Drop off at hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter

Lan Ha Bay - 09h10: You will be collected from Hanoi Old Quarter to take the new highway to Got Ferry Terminal – Cat Hai Town, Haiphong City where we arrive at around 11h30. The passengers have a chance to experience on longest and newest bridge in South East Asia area. You can take special tea at cruise’s lounge by warm welcome.

12h15: Transfer by tender to the cruise

12h30: We welcome our guests onboard then check in, enjoy Welcome Drink, receive cruise briefing, safety instructions and check in. Start cruising and explore Halong Bay - one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

13h00: The cruise proceeds to Da Chong islet, where you can see a lighthouse built by the French over 100 years ago. Have International Buffet Lunch while passing via the islets of Con Vit area. These amazing limestone karst formations rise up out of the sea in an impressive manner. This area is untouched, as not many cruise ships use the route via the Cat Ba Island - Thoi Quyt area - Coc Ngoi islet - through Gia Luan harbor where is belong to Cat Ba National Park

15h00: We progress to Trung Trang cave by our bus on Cat Ba island which is located in the middle of Cat Ba National Park with Kim Giao forest around the cave.

Trung Trang Valley is the largest valley on Cat Ba Island. The valley covers an area of approximately 300 hectares, has a depth of 10m to 30m and is around 15km in the middle of Cat Ba National Park. Trung Trang Cave measures 300m lengthwise through the mountains. The cave was carved by nature for more than 2000 years. The cave has many stalactites that take on various shapes that will awe and inspire visitors to use their imagination.

17h00: The ruise gets in the less populated area at Tra Bau area where is located in Lan Ha Bay. You will enjoy the green emerald and cool water by swimming

17h45: Returning the cruise, you can watch the magnificent sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin. Onboard you may join a traditional cooking class. Our chef will instruct you in the making of some Vietnam dishes. In the early evening the boat has its Happy Hour deal

19h30: Sumptuous Candlelight Deluxe Dinner Set Menu is served. Enjoy delicious local food prepared and served for you by our wonderful onboard catering staff. This is a delightful meal in an intimate romantic setting

21h30: Enjoy the landscape of the bay at night up on the top deck. Relax whilst enjoying drinks from the bar. Try your hand at night squid fishing, watching a movie in the restaurant. Overnight on board.

Magically - Magical experience - must be experienced! Orchid is truly a company that takes care of you from start to finish and makes the holiday within the holiday a fantastic experience. It is almost like a parallel universe out at sea among these unique islands. We stayed one night at the Orchid Classic. We chose to live on floor 1 because we wanted to be close to the waterline. The suite was absolutely wonderful, bathtub with a view, shower with a view and bed with a view. The staff was engaged and very responsive. Pure and simply tip top. The food was consistently brilliant. We learned to cook Vietnamese pancakes. We went into caves, paddled and enjoyed the unique archipelago. I really want to recommend this excursion.

A delightful 24 hours - A great experience cruising amid the limestone peaks of the bay. Our boat had only 14 rooms and the ratio of staff to guests was so high that you were always looked after particularly at mealtimes. There were plenty of activities organised or you could simply relax and look out at the scenery. Our cabin was large with an en suite bathroom and balcony. Lunch, breakfast and brunch were buffets and the evening meal table service. No-one went hungry! the choice was excellent with Vietnamese seafood the star offerings. A shout out to Daniel for his attentive service. Great organisation of getting to and from the boat.

HP 4669 Classic 03 was a fantastic cruise, staff worked above and beyond! - Our cruise manager, Trang, went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of, from Tai Chi at 6:15am to squid fishing at 10:00pm, she worked tireless with caring, good humor. The kitchen staff did an excellent job preparing our food , and server Elle was great too. The cabins were lovely . Highly recommend

Relaxing holiday! - I booked the Orchid Classic cruise via Halong Bay Tours and the experience was fantastic. David - our cabin manager was very warm and welcoming, always making sure all guests on board are looked after. The staff are also very friendly and service was definitely 5 stars. The menu was mainly seafood (cooked Vietnamese style) so be sure to advise in advance any dietaries.

Be mindful of Add Ons - I enjoyed the beautiful luxurious boat with its fabulous attentive staff if not at times theatrical-like 🫣BUT be mindful as I would have preferred transparent reasonable pricing for ‘add ons’ tea/ coffee was mentioned as included but Vietnamese variety only. The ‘my family favourite ginger tea’ that was promoted costs 30k, similar with coconut coffee 85k, Cappuccino 80k Americano 80k etc …during lunch they suggest having a glass of wine, once committed they disclose the price with the sale of bottles only! Happy hour is after lunch for a couple of hours and then after 9pm. 33cl local beer is 75k! Cruise is expensive but gouging afterwards should not be necessary. There are MANY other boats in the water- not sure if they are similar.
