Day 1: HALONG BAY - LAN HA BAY

Old Quarter - Pick up & Drop off at hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter

Lan Ha Bay - 09h10: You will be collected from Hanoi Old Quarter to take the new highway to Got Ferry Terminal – Cat Hai Town, Haiphong City where we arrive at around 11h30. The passengers have a chance to experience on longest and newest bridge in South East Asia area. You can take special tea at cruise’s lounge by warm welcome.

12h15: Transfer by tender to the cruise

12h30: We welcome our guests onboard then check in, enjoy Welcome Drink, receive cruise briefing, safety instructions and check in. Start cruising and explore Halong Bay - one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.

13h00: The cruise proceeds to Da Chong islet, where you can see a lighthouse built by the French over 100 years ago. Have International Buffet Lunch while passing via the islets of Con Vit area. These amazing limestone karst formations rise up out of the sea in an impressive manner. This area is untouched, as not many cruise ships use the route via the Cat Ba Island - Thoi Quyt area - Coc Ngoi islet - through Gia Luan harbor where is belong to Cat Ba National Park

15h00: We progress to Trung Trang cave by our bus on Cat Ba island which is located in the middle of Cat Ba National Park with Kim Giao forest around the cave.

Trung Trang Valley is the largest valley on Cat Ba Island. The valley covers an area of approximately 300 hectares, has a depth of 10m to 30m and is around 15km in the middle of Cat Ba National Park. Trung Trang Cave measures 300m lengthwise through the mountains. The cave was carved by nature for more than 2000 years. The cave has many stalactites that take on various shapes that will awe and inspire visitors to use their imagination.

17h00: The ruise gets in the less populated area at Tra Bau area where is located in Lan Ha Bay. You will enjoy the green emerald and cool water by swimming

17h45: Returning the cruise, you can watch the magnificent sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin. Onboard you may join a traditional cooking class. Our chef will instruct you in the making of some Vietnam dishes. In the early evening the boat has its Happy Hour deal

19h30: Sumptuous Candlelight Deluxe Dinner Set Menu is served. Enjoy delicious local food prepared and served for you by our wonderful onboard catering staff. This is a delightful meal in an intimate romantic setting

21h30: Enjoy the landscape of the bay at night up on the top deck. Relax whilst enjoying drinks from the bar. Try your hand at night squid fishing, watching a movie in the restaurant. Overnight on board.

5 stars for the Orchid 2! - Merlin, Emanuel and the rest of th3 crew on the Orchid 2 were amazing and took great care of us. We didn't do any excursions and simply enjoyed time on the boat relaxing and resting,but the crew made sure we were well attended to. Food, drinks, and fun - what more could you ask?

Truly Wonderful Experience - As part of our Vietnam experience we booked a 2 day 1 night trip with Orchid cruises. We were met by the crew at the dock and having checked in, were boarding the small boat to take us out to our cruise boat. The boat / ship was bigger than expected and far more luxurious, we were seated and lunch was served. This was quite a feast, 5 courses, along with wine (additional cost) by our server Sky, whom despite her broken English was very friendly, helpful and extremely happy to take care of us. After lunch we were able to take part in some activities which were all free and part of the cruise, even though the weather wasn’t great we went out kayaking around the bay. Back on broad we settled into our suite to relax.as well as a walk in rain shower there was also a full sized round top bath. The bed was very comfortable which looked out of the floor to ceiling window as we cruised along. There was plenty our space for our 2 large cases. A small fridge along with some drinks was also in the cabin. On the sky deck, evening cocktails were being served 2 4 1, before we headed back inside for dinner. Again the food was plentiful, in fact too much for me, with a variety of Vietnamese dishes which were very tasty. Breakfast the following morning was buffet style and we didn’t go short of any thing. All in all a very enjoyable cruise experience far exceeding our expectations. Recommended if in Ha long bay.

Amazing 🤩 - Amazing staff, very kind and nice! Mina was with us during the stay and was absolutely amazing! My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon and everyone were so nice to us ❤️

Lots of boats, a typhoon aftermath, and yet still stunning. - Our room exceeded expectations. The balcony was wonderful to sit on and enjoy the view. This was a positve way to cruise. We enjoyed the kayaking and cave excursion. Ha Long Bay is touristy and there are a lot of boats and people. We knew what to expect and decided to enjoy seeing the lit up boats at night while having a drink on the sun deck. The service was good. In fact, I was really impressed by Sky, the person who looked after us at meals. She was personable, cheerful and paid attention to small details. The crew are busy and yet she made time to chat and ensure we all felt welcome. We visited following the Yagi typhoon and witnessing the devastation and damage was very much a part of our trip.

Exceptional staff, services and trip was fun. Thank you to all involved. - Excellent service by Mr Thein and all staff. Food was great. They catered to our needs and it being our anniversary. Elle and team decorated the table and made it special for the three couples celebrating our anniversary. Thank you. Special mention to Elle, James, Daniel and many others. Special mention to Tien to keep us entertained and for his planned events. Much appreciated. Just loved the stay and would love ti come back. Staff and services are great. Sorry about the typhoon and staff went through the difficult time at sea. May they always be safe.

Ha Long Bay - Great views, super quiet navigation, super friendly and efficient staff (especially Lyly) and an experience that is worth the place. The only other thing is the amount of plastic and pollution that made us not enjoy a diving.

Worth it! - Worth it! I would say that you can also capture the beauty of the island and rock formations of Halong Bay with a day trip, however if you want a little more luxury and the amazing view of this World Heritage site when you wake up in the morning in your very comfortable bed on the water, I would highly recommend Orchid Cruise for a once in a lifetime experience. We were on the Orchid Classic 2 and were lucky enough to have received an upgrade to the Exclusive Suite after our originally booked cruise was cancelled. Emanuel was the trip director and tour guide doing an excellent job accompanying the guests through the well planned itinerary. All the staff were extremely attentive and friendly, Benny especially, looking after us during the lunch, dinner, breakfast and brunch service. Halong Bay is a must see, but as other reviews mentioned, since we were here only 5-6 days after Taifun Yagu caused havoc across Vietnam northern central region, we could clearly see the aftermath in form of increased amount of rubbish and debris floating in the water, as well as the destruction on land, both at the departure port and Cat Ba Island.

Top class boat and service - The boat we stayed in was amazing. We had room 104 which had a side balcony and a huge bath and shower and little sitting area at the window. The team really go out of their way to make you feel welcome from the moment you board. Note there is a 20min boat trip in a very hot capsule boat to get the where the boat is berthed. Food was good, trips were excellent. Only issues we had was our door to our room wouldn’t close properly and let light in from the corridor. We both had massages and they put someone else in the room with me and it was not a big enough room for 2 people getting a massage and not knowing each other.
