Sapa Trekking - May was our tour guide and she was amazing. Very informational, we learned a lot about the different tribes in Sapa. She was very gentle and didn’t rush us. Walked the same pace as everyone. She spoke both English and Vietnamese and would highly recommend you choose her as a tour guide.

Memorable family trip to Sapa with Guide(Zizi) - Zizi was a great tour guide. She made sure that our visits to various places in Sapa were pleasant and memorable. Her English speaking skill is quite decent and since she comes from this region, she is quite knowledgeable about various places etc. Unfortunately we couldn’t do the trekking tour with her - she is quite popular for that. She helped us a lot in taking great pictures as well.

Great tour for those fit enough to trek! - I went on this trip with my elderly parents and young niece and nephew who are 1 and 3 years old. I should have paid more attention to the itinerary since the first day involved walking down 300 steps of uneven and steep steps to get to Cat Cat village which was tough for them. They were not able to do the village trek the next day since it was trekking in rainy, muddy conditions over 10 km. Tour would be good for relatively young people or those in great shape as it involved a lot of hiking, trekking. The private van they provided to transport us from Hanoi to Sapa was great. The hotel was a 2 star hotel that was a bit away from the center of Sapa and was not as clean as I would prefer.

Frustrating and chaotic. - Most disorganized tour ever! I was told I’d be picked up at my hotel. I wasn’t. When I got ahold of someone, they said take taxi to Opera House. I do and there is NO bus or tour group waiting there. Called again and was told to take taxi to Train Station. I asked if anyone will be there to meet me. Didn’t get an answer about that just a copy of my ticket. So from the time they told me to go to Opera House was 6:45, got to train station at 7:30 but train didn’t leave till 10! So I just sat there like a dummy not knowing if anyone would meet me at the other end. I was told someone would be holding a sign with my name on it. They weren’t. I was told I’d get refunded for my taxi rides, I wasn’t. Eventually found a shuttle to take me to meeting point where I see a whole bunch of other confused and frustrated people. They made me leave luggage there amongst the piles of different tour groups. There was no time to freshen up after train and before trek. They somehow forgot me and had find my group that was already on the hike. The trek was very steep and rocky and sometimes slippery. Was greeted at each village by dozens of women and children surrounding you to buy stuff. It was uncomfortable. Got to homestay and that was absolutely wonderful. I did love that and the food was really really good. The next day I decided to dip from the group and go my own way. I taxied to Sapa and enjoyed the afternoon. I passed on my train and bought my own bus ticket back. Seriously, don’t book this. Have a GRAB taxi drop you off at bus or train, buy your own ticket to Sapa then take a taxi up to the villages. Easy! There are tons of FABULOUS home stays and each one can book you a trek tour from there. You will save a lot of time, money and frustration. Oh, they told me I had to pay an extra $28 (on top of the already $139) for my homestay room when I got there because I was solo. Ugh! The trek guides were pleasant and the trek was pretty. Homestay and food were very nice too. The logistics sucked!
