The location of the village sets it apart geographically, providing an exclusive look into the countryside life in Vietnam’s northern region.
Previously, it was renowned for its Gom Sanh (glaze-less pottery fired with dry grass). However, the products from this place started facing competition from other regions in Vietnam and China.
The community of Tho Ha then shifted their primary means of living to creating rice paper and pig rearing. Consequently, the practice of pottery was slowly phased out, resulting in the discontinuation of traditional pottery production.
Embarking on a visit provides a splendid opportunity to escape the hectic city life, explore classic Communal Houses, historic wooden homes, and gain insights about the process of rice paper production.
A stay in this village lets you immerse yourself in the locals’ everyday life, indulging in the distinct, yet ordinary cuisines that are unique to this region and can’t be found elsewhere in Vietnam.
