Incense sticks and conical hats. - The tour was well organised and included being shown machines for making incense sticks and also shown how handmade conical hats are created. We were also able to decorate a hat to take home with us. The tour guide was very helpful as my husband was having difficulty walking, and also spoke very good English. Relaxed, easy pace. Would recommend this half day tour.

Great way to spend an afternoon - We had an afternoon spare while in Hanoi so took part in the Incense Village, Hat Making & Train Street Group Tour. Our guide was fantastic and very helpful. It was great to see the behind the scenes process for both incense and the hats. We has 21 people on our tour which was a perfect number. Highly recommend.

Fun day trip - This is a good day trip for solo/couples/families. Very simple and educational. You get to see a town and what it might be like to live in Vietnam community. The incense field was smaller then expected but still very beautiful

Much learned, highly recommended! - In the morning we were picked up on time at the meeting point and drove about 1h 15 min to the first village. There Louisa first explained a lot to us and then showed us how to make a traditional Vietnamese headgear. After we had tried some work steps ourselves, we were allowed to paint a cone hat and then take it with us as a souvenir. After a short drive we reached the incense village. There we were explained step by step how to make an incense stick. Again, we were allowed to make a stick ourselves and keep it. Finally, there was a photo shoot at the well-known spot where the incense sticks are laid out for drying. A wonderful tour, highly recommended!

Wonderful outing to interesting sites and great photos - We had a wonderful trip today. Our guide was good at describing the tour, and then explained everything about the processes of making the hats and the incense. The women making the hats were very kind, and skilled. Perfect for a 1/2 day outing, but do eat a good lunch before departure to keep from getting hungry in case of traffic on the way home. We recommend this trip.

If you have a spare half day - Essentially a short trips to 2 village factory. Mainly for the photo opportunity. They show you briefly how they used to make the incense in the years gone by. Now the place is nicely made up for that photo opportunity. We liked the hat making village and the hospitality of the hat shop. You get to keep the hats you painted as souvenirs.
