Begin your adventure at Mad Monkey Hanoi, where you can connect with fellow travelers on a 6-7 hour bus journey to Ha Giang city. The trip includes a comfortable stop for refreshments and a chance to stretch your legs. Upon arrival at your friendly homestay, relax and prepare for the thrilling experiences that the next day will bring!

Hà Giang - DAY 1: (~100km) Ha Giang – Du Gia (B,L,D)
Start your day with breakfast at 7:30 am, then set off at 8:30 am. Travel along winding roads to Bac Sum Pass, where sharp turns and breathtaking views await. Discover a newly opened route, a hidden treasure since the pandemic, offering stunning landscapes. Weather permitting, enjoy a 700-meter trek to swim at Khau Lan Waterfall.

Next, visit a coffee shop with panoramic views at Heaven’s Gate, then hike to a viewpoint to admire the Fairy Hills and Tam Son’s rice fields and mountains. Enjoy lunch in Tam Son at noon.

In the afternoon, cycle past Duong Thuong Village, home to the H’mong people. Arrive at your destination by late afternoon and end the day with dinner at a local homestay, featuring the North’s renowned “Happy Water” beer.

DAY 2: (~120km) Du Gia - Mau Due-Meo Vac – Dong Van (B,L,D)

Dong Van - Begin the day with a visit to a former French military post for photos of the surrounding area. After 15 km, stop at a coffee shop with views of terraced rice fields and rocky limestone mountains.

Lunch will be in Meo Vac town at 12:00 p.m.

Next, enjoy a boat trip along the Nho Que River, taking in the breathtaking Tu San Alley, the deepest canyon in Southeast Asia. Continue along Ma Pi Leng Pass, “The Road of Happiness,” one of Vietnam’s most picturesque routes.

Before reaching Dong Van, stop at the Sky Walk for panoramic views from one of the highest points on Ma Pi Leng Pass.

Spend the night in the area, allowing you to appreciate the landscape and immerse yourself in the region’s beauty.

DAY 3: (~140km) Dong Van – Yen Minh- Ha Giang City (B,L)

Yen Minh - After breakfast, head southwest, starting with a visit to the H’mong King’s Palace to explore the history and culture of the H’mong hill tribe. Along the way, pass rocky outcrops, evidence of Earth’s tectonic shifts.

Stop at Tham Ma Pass to capture photos of its fascinating geosites and dramatic cliffs. For those on their own bikes, there’s a “try not to fall” challenge!

Lunch is in Yen Minh, at one of Ha Giang’s oldest restaurants, known for its delicious food. Afterward, encounter more stunning mountain passes and villages blanketed in hemp crops. Explore ancient houses and immerse yourself in the local culture.

Return to Ha Giang, and then travel back to Hanoi, with an estimated arrival time around 11:00 p.m. Typically, the city is reached by 3:00 p.m., followed by a bus ride to Hanoi.
