Would do this again! - Our tour guide was great and we had a fun day seeing all the sites! We stopped to see the monkeys and sloths first, then headed to the chocolate factory. Yum!!! The Rum stop had great cakes and the beach stop was very relaxing. The restaurant on the beach was scrumptious!

Loved the Sloths - Really great tour guide, toured at our own pace, no rush from each stop or pressure to buy at the stops. Showed us around the island, and recommended other sights that might be of interest to us.

Best day EVER!! - Best day ever!!! Brenelda was our tour guide. She knew how important it was to be able to hold a sloth, and she helped to make it happen. She is very knowledgeable about Roatan and took us to Infinity Beach, the Rum tasting, and chocolate tasting. We then stopped for a delicious meal. Overall, we would highly recommend and can’t wait to return to Roatan! Thank you Brenelda for making our day amazing and very memorable.

Amazing experience! - This tour was amazing!! The monkeys and sloths were everything I expected it to be! Your driver takes you there, then you are assigned a guide at the sanctuary and your own photographer. He took about 70 photos. The price for the photos was only $20 per person. The only downside of this tour was the beach. We couldn’t enjoy it due to vendors in our face begging for us to buy things from them.

Nice guide. Good tour. Awful port. - Tour was good. We had a. Ice day. Other reviews are spot on about the rum factory and chocolate place. Tourist traps. But that isn’t the tour guides fault. Our driver was very kind. He made us feel safe in an otherwise not-so-safe feeling environment. Leaving the cruise port to find the guides was quite intimidating with all the chaos of people trying to seek you for their guided tours and taxis. Luckily a local rescued us from that chaos. It was like what celebrities must feel with paparazzi. Or even worse. The sloths were the best part of the visit. I don’t think I’ll return to Roatan though- unless it’s to stay in one of the ritzier places. If a ship returns there I’d stay on the boat.

Cruise port day Roatan just meh - This was our first time visiting this island from our cruise. I will start with saying that it was very easy to find them in the cruise port and our driver was very nice, but really what you pay for is just that a driver in their personal vehicle. Our family loved the animal sanctuary, which was about $15 if you paid it on your own and right at the port. They will take photos of you which you can buy. They did a nice job w that and is offered by the sanctuary not the tour group so anyone has that opportunity. She did get us to the Roatan sign to take photos before it got crazy which I appreciate. However, we were disappointed with the rest of the day because the chocolate and rum tour part there isn’t really a tour. They are simply stores and tourist traps. The chocolate “factory” gave you a two minute rundown of how they use cocoa beans and that is the end of it. The rum store, you go in and can taste it or rum cake annnd then that’s it. About 15min or less in those spots. We were then taken to a resort that our driver said was less busy than where we were supposed to go. Not sure how true or not true that was. There was pretty much no room to lay on the beach so we had to sit in chairs near the pool area (which we couldn’t use). We were so bored and bummed we couldn’t really relax on the beach that after a quick lunch we went back to the boat.

Expensive private car, gift shops, and bad beach. - Do your research. This was almost a good tour but there are a few items that were a huge disappointment. The first major hurdle is finding your tour guide. We battled our way through a maze of vendors while exiting the port. Once outside the port we were swarmed by a mosh pit of taxi drivers, vendors, and tour operators begging for business. The locals were helpful in assisting us with finding our tour company, but be prepared for the overwhelming attention. Our driver for the day was polite but didn't talk much. We had a decent private vehicle for our family of 5 for the day. The Monkey and Sloth experience was fun, but really just a dozen cages in a make shift zoo minutes from the port. The workers are friendly, knowledgeable, and provide ample opportunity for you to interact with, hold, and feed some of the animals! The Chocolate and Rum Cake tours are nothing more than overpriced gift shops. If that's your thing, enjoy. We could have skipped these all together. The final half of the day was at a "beach club" at West Bay, allegedly the " best beach". The beach club was basically a restaurant with US Resort priced food and drinks on the beach with vendors inundating you with sales pitches. We were assigned 5 beaten up beach chairs right outside the entrance. The beach was cramped for space at best. The reviews all say you can snorkel near the beach. This is not true. Not a good beach, and no snorkeling near the beach. Fortunately, we hired one of the local vendors on the beach to take our family out on a 2 hour snorkel excursion at Blue Channel in his private boat. This was awesome, but in no way associated with the tour. The snorkel trip saved the day. If we go back, we would do another snorkel excursion and skip this tour.

Fair Value but Terrible Beach! - Everyone was helpful, and locals are friendly. A bit if a hassle finding the tour. You have to battle through a mosh pit of vendors and taxis to hunt down the excursion company. Our family had a private SUV and a courteous driver. The sloth and monkey experience was fun! The Chocolate and Rum Cake stops were basically tourist gift shops. If you want to taste and/or buy chocolate or overpriced rum or run cakes, this will work for you. West Bay beach is NOT as advertised. Small beach mobbed by vendors trying to sell things. Reviews say your can snorkel from the beach. This is not true. Fortunately, we hired a boat to take us to blue channel for AMAZING SNORKELING! HIGHLY RECOMMEND finding a snorkeling tour to blue channel and monkey and sloth experience and skip everything else. Fair value considering we had a private car and driver for the day, but paid an extra $200+ for lunch and snorkel trip. If we realized tee truth about the beach we would have booked a snorkeling trip instead.
