The Hong Kong Geopark, opened November 2009, comprises of eight major geological sites and is of International stature. One of them is in the region of the High Island water reservoir, the destination of this tour.
The location offers spectacular rock formations formed by volcanic activities 140 million years ago, coastlines shaped by the predominant rock columns, and an impressive dam. The route then leads to a bay with a beautiful beach. Time to dip your feet in the South China Sea!
One more little hill before the hike ends in an old coastal village. This fishing community is still active: the storm-protected bay is used for fish cultivation.
You are treated to a seafood meal at one of the Restaurants here.
After lunch there is opportunity to pay visit to the Godess of the Sea, Tin Hau, at her Temple. Return to Sai Kung by boat.
