• Quarry Bay - The tour guide will meet participants at Quarry Bay MTR Station (Exit A, within the station concourse area) and then visit the “Montane Mansion,” also known as the “Monster Building.” This architectural complex, consisting of five old mansions resembling a walled city, has recently become a popular filming location, featured in movies like “Transformer IV.”
• Chun Yeung Street - The journey continues with a tram ride (ding ding) to North Point, where visitors will explore the Chun Yeung Street wet market. This market maintains a local atmosphere where residents still shop, and it’s fascinating to see a tram running through such a narrow street.
• North Point - The tour includes a stop at a family-run Chinese embroidery slippers store, one of the last few stores in Hong Kong offering “hand-made Chinese embroidery slippers.” Established in 1960, they are committed to providing “Made in Hong Kong” products.
• Causeway Bay - The tour proceeds with a “ding ding” or public bus ride to Causeway Bay, where participants can experience a taste of living culture through the ancient tradition of “petty person beating” (da siu yan in Cantonese). This Chinese folk ritual is believed to dispel evil, especially from enemies. Finally, the tour concludes with a chance to relax and enjoy one of the most popular traditional dishes—wonton noodles.
