To start your stay in HK! - We took our first steps in Hong Kong with Stephanie, it was the best way to start our week-long stay.
Stephanie first gave us a clear and structured view of the history of HK, with lots of interesting and fun anecdotes, her experience of recent history too. Then we took a great tour in different places of the city, on foot, the largest escalator in the world, by tram, boat, metro... we saw a lot, without feeling like running, and learning a lot. Very nice lunch break.
A very nice start of stay that I recommend to all!

An exciting and friendly introduction to Hong Kong - A full day guided by Stephanie that began with an exciting introduction to Hong Kong and its history. We then visited different neighborhoods on Vitoria Island or Kowlong and emblematic places, talking about such diverse topics as architecture, feng shui, religions, gastronomy, etc.
We recommend this visit which allows you to go beyond clichés thanks to Stephanie’s long experience of HKK.

A day to understand the keys of Hong Kong - Stephanie accompanied us on a full day with her family (group of 14 people over three generations) to discover Hong Kong, its history, culture and some of these iconic sites. We appreciated the quality of the preparation, the good balance between factual distance and personal feelings, especially vs recent news. You can feel Stephanie’s attachment and anchoring in this territory that she loves and knows particularly well. This makes all the difference and we had the feeling to “live” a little the reality of HK while keeping the prism and reading keys of a Western look

This tour was outstanding and exceeded all expectations. Stephanie was a polite, patience and highly knowledgeable tour guide. She made the experience educational and highly enjoyable in learning Hong Kong’s historical scenery.
Stephanie explained everything from the simple MTR subway through the subway stations to the magnificent ride and view from the Ngong Ping 360 cable car.
Stephanie expertly maneuvered through Ngnong Ping Village, Divine Generals Alley, Po Lin Buddhist Monastery, Ten Thousand Buddha Grand Hall and Tai O Fishing Village and provided great insight and valued historical data for each of these great Hong Kong landmarks. We also shared an amazing lunch at an local village restaurant.
Stephanie provided a recap and detailed synopsis of my exact tour as occurred which proved invaluable to my own detailed journal for my Hong Kong visit.
Bravo Zulu Stephanie, thank you!
I will take this tour again when I visit Hong Kong and highly recommend this tour to family, friends or anyone visiting Hong Kong.

Discovering HK and its various facets - Our visit with Alexandra was just great! Starting with Central and ending with the Diamond Hill district, passing through the temple of Man Mo, the old prison, the quarter of Tsim Sha Tsui, we were able to discover Hong Kong in its many facets: architecture and urban planning, religion and philosophy, traditional medicine and street market, gastronomy, history and geopolitics.
Alexandra managed to juggle her different subjects and neighborhoods with a very pleasant fluidity making this daily walk pleasant.
We advise!!!
Thanks again!

Exceptional! Don't Hesitate! - My husband and I have been fortunate to be able to travel the globe so I feel we're familiar with "quality" services versus those that lack. When I was researching local companies for customized touring in Hong Kong, I was fortunate to stumble upon Hong Kong a la Carte. Throughout the planning stages with Alex (her emails were intelligent and she was sensitive to my ever-changing requests), and leading up to meeting our guide, Stephanie, we were pleased and impressed.
When we met Stephanie her charm and class were an immediate draw, but in short order we realized she offered more than that - she was knowledgeable, sincere, flexible, and patient. She was also proactive...offering alternatives on the spot when we didn't want to linger longer, or patiently waiting when we lingered too long! Aside from learning about Hong Kong's past (through conversations and historical photos she brought), we also learned about the city's recent history and current affairs. When we wanted to delve into the "soul" of the city and experience it more as a local, she was mindful of our comfort and safety while happily accommodating our every whim.
Since the weather was great in late December, we opted to walk almost everywhere but there were additional modes of transport sprinkled in.
*Ride a taxi when we were tired? No problem.
*Hop on a tram (or two) for a ride? Sure.
*Hire a private transfer vehicle? Of course.
*Take the Star Ferry and underground transit? Done.
*Have our fortunes told? Scheduled.
*Locate a shoemaker to make custom shoes? She knew exactly where to take us.
*We inquired about a fave eatery she would enjoy for lunch one day. She took us to Hutong Restaurant in Kowloon. Aside from the unending views of Victoria Harbor and the city, the food was fresh and (very) tasty, served in an atmosphere of cool / updated Old World.
*Stop for that umpteenth photo? She even provided tips for better shots.
Within a day (or two) of our departure, Stephanie sent an email outlining the details of our experiences. We can't rave highly enough.

The Best Way to See Hong Kong. - This was our ninth trip with Stephanie from Hong Kong A La Carte. On this trip we picked up bikes in Tai Wai and cycled to Tai Po and visited the reservoir there. After dropping the bikes back we walked to the !0,000 Buddhas Monastery at Sha Tin. This was a hidden gem. The bike ride required only moderate fitness and Stephanie took us places that we could never achieve on our own - which is of course the whole point to a private tour. It is not possible to recommend Stephanie more highly.
