Discover two of the Pacific Northwest’s most remarkable attractions – the Columbia Gorge Waterfalls and Oregon wines! Uncover the fascinating stories behind the breathtaking scenery as you take in the basalt cliffs, towering waterfalls, and the vineyards and orchards that characterize the region.
Start your afternoon along the majestic Columbia River, keeping an eye out for bald eagles and ospreys as you journey to the lush forests of “Waterfall Alley.” Your guide will offer insights from a naturalist’s perspective on the moss-covered environment as you explore some of the 70 waterfalls that cascade down the area’s cliffs. As you head east, the damp forests of the coastal Pacific Northwest transition to Garry Oak, Ponderosa Pines, and other drier vegetation, creating ideal conditions for grape cultivation.
Spend the remainder of the day exploring the fertile basin around Hood River, where you’ll sample exclusive wines unique to Oregon. Discover how the natural forces that shaped this stunning landscape have also influenced the wine in your glass.

Waterfall and winery tour - We had a great waterfall and winery tour with Luke. He was very knowledgeable about the area and local history. He was also great to provide lots of other local recommendations for places to eat. Wy-East winery was very quaint and the wine was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour and guide.

Wonderful tour - The experience was great. Luke was knowledgeable and attentive. The sites themselves were beautiful and I enjoyed both wineries. I even got recommendations for things to do after the tour that were a perfect way to close out my trip. Highly recommend this tour.

Waterfalls AND Wine? Yes Please! - I’m so glad we took this half-day tour with Luke from Evergreen Escapes. He went out of his way to make it special and we were blown away by all the thoughtful touches, such as a delicious charcuterie tray of local snacks to have with our wine tasting. Luke also led us on a short hike to Latourell Falls while pointing out interesting facts about the trees and plants. Multnomah Falls was magnificent and we had enough time to see the falls and the lodge. We felt like family on this tour! Highly recommended!

Excellent - Fun and Informative - Luke really gave us a memorable experience and we were treated like family. He provided not only informed and interesting narratives, visits to 2 waterfalls, but also an excellent wine tasting experience in the Hood River Valley with wine and charcuterie! An excellent day we will always remember. I highly recommend Evergreen Escapes!

Don’t hesitate in booking this tour! - What an amazing day!
Luke, our guide was: personable, patient,kind and a
knowledgeable naturalist which added to the experience.
Luke had great local knowledge on Portland and surrounds and was
always checking to see if everyone was enjoying themselves.
Snacks and drinks were provided en route in our
clean and comfortable 10 person van
Waterfalls and the Columbia Gorge was spectacular with appropriate time allocated at each stop.
The afternoon timing of the tour was perfect for the views and lighting, as the sun was setting. It was beautiful. The stops were not very busy at this time of day either, which was great!
The tour made the most of the season visiting a river to see salmon spawning and I even got to stomp on some grapes at the winery.
The wine tasting was nice and the charcuterie board provided by Evergreen was a lovely touch!
Good price point for the quality of tour.

Waterfalls and a winery - Since we were only in Portland for three days, we knew we wanted to see some waterfalls and visit a winery, but we didn’t want to deal with renting a car or doing any of the driving ourselves. This tour ended up being the perfect choice.
It was a small group of just six people, which made the day feel relaxed and personal. Our guide and driver, Luke, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and really easygoing. He picked us up right at our hotel, which made everything super convenient.
Luke shared a ton of interesting information throughout the drive, and he ended up taking us to more waterfalls than we expected, which was an awesome surprise. Midway through the day, he passed around some light snacks and refreshments, which was a nice and thoughtful touch. At each stop, he offered to take photos for us, and we never felt rushed.
The winery stop towards the end was a great way to wind down the day. The whole experience was smooth, scenic, and stress-free. If you’re visiting Portland and want to see the beauty of the area without having to plan the details yourself, this tour is a must.

Perfect couples experience - Such an amazing experience! Lucas was wonderful, make the group quickly feel comfortable together while sharing a ton of area knowledge. The waterfalls were stunning and the winery is not to be missed. Loved our experience and would do it again.

Scenic, Relaxing, and the Perfect Way to End the Day! - We had a fantastic time thanks in large part to our guide, Luke. He was knowledgeable, personable, and attentive throughout the day. Luke shared great stories and local insight, striking the perfect balance between informative and relaxed.
He was also incredibly tuned in to the group’s pace and interests, making everyone feel comfortable and cared for. From the breathtaking waterfalls to the well-chosen winery, everything felt smooth and thoughtfully planned. You can tell Luke truly enjoys what he does—and it made the experience even better.
Highly recommend this tour—and if you get Luke, you're in great hands!

Delightful tour of waterfalls combined with a wine tasting - This afternoon we went on a most enjoyable Evergreen Escapes tour of Waterfalls in the Colombia Gorge. We ended the day with a visit to a local winery where we were able to try several local wines.
Our guide was Luke Bender who did an excellent job. As on all Evergreen Escapes tours, there was an ample supply of snacks and drinks.
This was the fifth tour that we have taken with Evergreen Escapes—and are happy to recommend it without hesitation.
