Best experience we had in Alaska! - We LOVED our kayaking tour with Dave. It was by far our favorite experience in all of Alaska. Everyone was so kind and they provided us with all the gear we needed to be comfortable and warm, as well as waterproof phone cases so we could take pictures/videos. We enjoyed chatting with Dave and hearing all his great stories, as well as learning about Hoonah and the wildlife. The scenery alone was incredible and we felt so grateful to be in this beautiful, peaceful place. We were lucky enough to see bears, deer, bald eagles, and whales - but this was really just the cherry on top of an already amazing kayaking tour. We also loved that the kayak had a rudder, it really made it so much easier to steer. After the tour, they even sent us photographs that they had taken of us during the tour! Seriously the best experience and I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone visiting Icy Strait/Hoonah! I just hope we can go back and do it again some day. Thank you Dave for giving us the best day kayaking we've ever had!

Best tour in Alaska - MUST DO! Not only half the price of others, but a breathtaking experience. This was a once in a lifetime experience the guide was knowledgeable and taught us a ton about the whales and bears. They even trail a ‘safety boat’ and they take a million photos of you for free. Not only an amazing tour, but a photographer too. Truly amazing.

Pure Alaska - You can never guarantee what wildlife you are going to see or what the weather will bring, so having a knowledgeable, entertaining guide is key. Dave and the support team brought all that. We saw sea lions, crab, migrating herons, spawning salmon, and jellyfish, and got rained on a little. And it delivered the greatest sense of calm and peace surrounded by pure beauty I have ever experienced. Thank you Fairweather Kayaks!

beautiful scenery and a wonderful time!! - What a great time! Cody, Michelle and the rest of the Fairweather crew were top notch. They provide the gear and tuck you in with a kayak skirt so you don't get wet. We really enjoyed talking with Cody during the tour. He's super positive, knowledgeable, funny and a real pleasure to be around. We saw porpoises, eagles, and spawning salmon. Michelle responded quickly to my questions in the days leading up to the tour and was warm and accommodating in person. She stayed behind in a boat and took some great photos for us to enjoy later. Loved the Mocha silhouette pics! Fantastic experience in beautiful Hoonah!

kayaking in Hoonah - This was a fun kayak trip in the little town of Hoonah. The pick up directions were easy off the ship. There were older couples and families with younger children and it was enjoyable for all ages.
Cody and his team led a nice hours long kayak trip around the Hoonah harbor and out into the waters surrounding us. The scenery was gorgeous and they took pictures of it all along the way for us, they were sent with a link and we could download the ones we wanted. That was much appreciated.

Beautiful way to experience part of Alaska - Absolutely recommend this experience if you're stopping to explore! If I could give 10 stars I would. Guides were fantastic, support crew provided some great pictures, and we experienced a beautiful day which made things even better. I don't know if there is a single thing that could be changed to make this a better trip, absolutely a great value.

Book it! - We opted for this activity during one of our stops for our cruise. The guides were knowledgeable and personable! We were able to hold a giant crab and they even took many photos of our kayaking trip and sent them to us (free of charge)! It was such a quiet and relaxing change of pace and we enjoyed seeing parts of the area most other people didn’t get to see.

Best Kayaking Tour! - Great kayaking experience!! Have done several different kayaking tours and this was one of the best ones. Was a great time. We were on the water for over two hours. They provided rain coats, gloves, and waterproof phone cases. They take pictures of your while on the water and can download for free from their website. They were knowledgeable, helpful and had great stories to keep the kayaking entertaining.
