your ride for 3 days - A perfect way to get around the city if you are not in a rush, we had 3 days in Rome and got the 72 hour pass with the night tour. We only needed a taxi to and from the airport and to the vatican and back. If we had planned better we probably could have used the bus to get close to the vatican and saved that money too!

Good for getting around the main sites - When I booked I didn’t, naively, realize there are lots of different companies. The route this company took was circular stopping near main sites ( 8 stops in total) I didn’t know what the route was until on the bus! I booked a 3 day pass thinking that would be the best way to travel around. But, the Metro / rail/ bus ticket s are much more convenient for getting everywhere! at a much better value. I would recommend but only for a one day ticket.

Great option to get around the city but I Love Rome bus has even more frequent buses - Like Barcelona and New York the Rome hop on hop off bus tour is a great way to see the sites and also to get around the city. There are frequent stops and frequent buses so you never wait long for the next bus, and can plan your own day rather than being stuck with the bus plan. The stops are also close as there are so many things to see in Rome, which means you can often walk from one site to another and then jump on another bus. The only two disadvantages are the tour operators don’t pause the recording when the bus stops so the information is often not synced with the sites, and the bus waits for a very long time at each stop. The other tour, I Love Rome, had two or three buses come and go while we waited on the bus to leave

Below average - Better than the night tour but not great. We waited at stop 7 (nearest to our hotel) for the first bus and had to ask an attendant for another company questions as the big bus attendant only turned up when the bus was leaving. Nowhere near as many buses in frequency through the day as the other red coloured buses by another company which led to long queues and crowded buses by midday. The first bus was by the sister company and had windows upstairs, so even though we were upstairs you were still taking photos through grubby windows if seated. The audio commentary was poor - varying levels in terms of sound and very little given.

Terrible service - We purchased a 72 hour hop on and off ticket. This company has terrible service. The bus’s never run to the time advertised, the drivers stand outside chatting away to others while the bus is full and we are waiting to leave, we have had multiple drivers texting and taking phone calls while driving (which is illegal), children running up and down aisles and standing upstairs on top deck just being a nuisance and misbehaved (there are cameras upstairs but driver/ workers don’t do anything), have had buses just drive past and not stop… steer clear.

Turtle Pace - Expect long waits between busses. Long queues at bus stops. Full busses. Slow moving stuck in traffic. Routes on outskirts and you don’t actually see any attractions from the bus, you have to get off at atop and walk.
