If you’re a history, animal, and water enthusiast, you’ll have the chance to discover the rich history and culture of the islanders by visiting Manawakie Park. You’ll enjoy a brief history lesson of Roatan Island at the Wild Cane House Museum, where you’ll learn about the various building materials used throughout the centuries, such as bamboo and mud. The replica statues and artifacts on display from the Mayan Civilization are particularly fascinating, with a brief orientation of their belief system provided by your tour guide. After your history and culture lesson, you’ll have the opportunity to see and learn about the different animals roaming freely in the park. The tour continues with a stop at the chocolate and rum factory before taking a short boat ride out to the reef. You’ll then anchor down and hop into the water to start your underwater adventure on the world’s second-largest reef during a coastal boating adventure.
