Additional Information

The utmost northern point of the Bund - Wai Tan Yuan, often slips past tourists’ radars despite being the cradle of Shanghai’s modern era.

This guided journey will lead you to the unexplored corners tucked away behind the magnificent Bund, offering glimpses into local lifestyle, traditions, and history.

Spanning 3 hours and covering 8 obscure spots, we may be your guides, but you are the intrepid explorer.

In the course of our stroll, as natives born and brought up in Shanghai, we’d be delighted to converse about how the city’s past influences our current lifestyle; our perspectives on Shanghai and China’s swift-paced urbanization; and the modern Chinese youth’s lifestyle and their challenges.

With a dash of luck, we might even be able to enter the buildings and witness how the residents continue to live as they did over a century ago.

Short but fun tour of some easy-to-miss areas of the city! - Miki is a really good guide and does an excellent job taking you through some of the lesser known areas right beside the Bund. The tour is quick paced (but not rushed) so you get a lot in during a couple of hours. Highly recommend for an intro to the city that's a bit removed from the big tourist areas.

a pleasant tour in Shanghai Tang - Our tourist guide Miki is a hospitable local-born Shanghai lady, who is also a tattoo artist. Comparing with the stiff-style tourist way, this walking tour is more vivid encompassing the perspectives from a local's childhood memories, which is definitely more than the best-selling tourist book! I enjoyed the whole trip enormously, and is planning to book a tattoo appointment with Miki soon :-)
