The journey begins at Huanghe Road food street, with the first stop at a local eatery renowned for the best soup dumplings in town. Guests will sit among locals and discuss the flavors and techniques involved in making and enjoying dumplings with feather-thin skin and juicy fillings of pork, crab, and shrimp. The tour continues to the last old 1920’s neighborhood in downtown Shanghai, where guests will savor delicious Shanghai-style fried dumplings at a family eatery established in 1980. Next, the tour heads to Yunnan Road food street, once the border between the French Concession and Chinese areas. Here, guests will visit a duck restaurant to sample some of the best typical Shanghai duck dishes, including delicious duck soup, and choose their favorite parts of the duck. Finally, the tour concludes with a visit to a local noodle eatery established in 1987, where guests will enjoy the famous Shanghai scallion oil noodles with spicy pork or other toppings such as fish, mushroom, or tofu, according to their preference.
