- Jade Buddha Temple - Your tour guide will meet you at the airport exit with a welcome sign displaying your name at 08:30 a.m. From there, we will head to the Jade Buddha Temple to begin our layover tour. The Jade Buddha Temple is an active monastery and one of Shanghai’s most popular temples. Here, you can admire two exquisite jade Buddha statues and a vast collection of statues, relics, and art. Despite its relatively short history, the temple’s classical architectural style makes it a unique and irreplaceable landmark in this modern city. Whether you are a Buddhist or not, the peaceful and transcendent atmosphere offers a rich contrast to our busy modern lives. We will also have the opportunity to copy Buddhist Scriptures using a writing brush.
- Shanghai Jiangnan Silk Museum - After lunch, we will visit the Shanghai Silk Museum, which spans 6000 square meters and is located in the Huangpu District. The museum aims to promote Chinese silk culture and industry. China is the world’s largest silk producer, with most of its silk coming from mulberry silkworms. The museum features exhibits on silkworm cultivation, an elegant silk exhibition hall, silk reeling production, and exquisite silk products.

- Xintiandi - Xintiandi is a tourist attraction that preserves Shanghai’s historical and cultural features while integrating Chinese and Western cultures. It is divided into northern and southern sections, with the south featuring modern architecture and the north showcasing Shikumen old buildings. This area has become a trendy pedestrian street in the city center, representing the leisurely lifestyle of Shanghai’s new generation. Outdoor cafes, bars, and romantic restaurants are abundant.
- Shikumen Museum, Shanghai - This museum is housed in a preserved and renovated Shikumen house from the 1920s. It is designed to replicate a typical household from that era, with seven main exhibition rooms: the guest room, study room, old people’s room, master room, daughter room, pavilion room, and oven room. The museum tells the story of a Shikumen family, showcasing the unique architectural culture of Shanghai and the lifestyle of its residents in the 1920s. It is a great place to reminisce about old Shanghai and explore its historical memory.
Next, we will stroll along Nanjing Road and explore the surrounding communities and the thinnest building.
- Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road) - Known as the ‘No. 1 commercial street in China,’ Nanjing Road has been a city landmark for a long time. Stretching 5.5 kilometers, it features over 600 shops that attract an average of 1.7 million visitors daily. Here, you can find everything from affordable souvenirs to luxurious global brands. You can also explore the surrounding neighborhoods and the thinnest building, known as the Paper Building (纸片楼) on Ningbo Road. This building, once featured in the British Daily Mail, is considered one of the world’s flattest and thinnest buildings. Despite its unusual shape, it still houses many residents.
We will then transfer to Pudong to visit Shanghai’s financial district and the Oriental Pearl Tower.
- Pudong New Area - Pudong is a bustling district known for its modern attractions, businesses, skyscrapers, and shopping malls, all featuring the latest in entertainment, technology, and fashion. We will walk along the Lujiazui Ring Bridge, an excellent spot for photographing skyscrapers.
- Oriental Pearl Tower (Dongfang Mingzhu) - Located in Pudong Park, the 468-meter-high Oriental Pearl Tower is the world’s sixth and China’s second tallest TV and radio tower. Its unique architectural design makes it one of Shanghai’s most attractive landmarks. The tower has three main sightseeing spheres, each with an observation deck offering breathtaking views of Shanghai. We will take an elevator to the glass-bottomed sightseeing floor at 259 meters and the main sightseeing floor at 263 meters. Walking on the glass floor and enjoying panoramic views of the Huangpu River and the city’s buildings is a memorable experience. If the weather is clear, you might even catch a spectacular sunset.
Afterwards, we will transfer you back to the airport or your hotel, wrapping up your memorable tour.
