Great food, great beer, great sights, great guide! - Went on this trip with my brother and it was fantastic! Jim showed us some authentic hidden gems around Shanghai that we would never have known about or found otherwise. It was so good to have an informative guide who made sure to share his love of local cuisine and history. Great food, great beer, great sights, great guide! We booked for another tour with Jim the following night...

Delicious Shanghai Food Tour - One of the highlights of my trip to Shanghai. I'd definitely recommend doing this tour early in your trip, as it's a great way to learn your way around downtown. Jim was fantastic. He taught me a lot about Chinese history and culture, was very fun and friendly, and knew took me to eat a lot of really delicious food. I'm recommending his tour to all my friends that are planning a visit.

Great tour, great food, great company - We did the evening tour with Jim - he arrived with some tasty crispy omelettes and it just got better from there. We got to explore parts of Shanghai we wouldn't find by ourselves, and tried some great food and local beers. Jim was a great guide, really knowledgeable and friendly. This tour is a must!!

Exceptional Guide! - I have been on countless food tours around the world. I have also, booked many Shanghai food tours with all the notable companies in Shanghai. However, I would definitely say this tour company and guide, was by far the best. I basically had the same food, as all previous tours in Shanghai (I enjoy the breakfast tours), but different locations within the city. However, what really made this tour my top 5 all time favorite food tours, was the guide. Anyone can tour around a city and eat the typical food of the given city/country. What makes a food tour or any tour memorable and a REAL "experience" is the guide. Jim, my guide fit that "experience". Jim spoke great English, was very informative regarding current affairs relating to China and the history of China, especially pertaining to the area in which the food tour was. I highly recommend this company!

Perfect for an afternoon in Shanghai - From his warm greeting to the end of the day our tour guide Lu provided a wonderful was to experience a part of the city. The meeting place was easy to find and navigate to and from there we began a journey that included personal stories, history and thoughtful navigation. So many good experiences to share but my top two were the Scallion Noodle stop for the best pork and noodles and then an absolutely magical experience at a small Tea Shop. I wouldn't hesitate to book this tour, highly recommended. Thank you Lu!

Great tour guide - Had a great tour guide in Lilac, she was very knowledgeable about the food and also gave a lot of insight into the area and Chinese culture. She also sent me a list and information about all the foods we ate and where. Unfortunately she's leaving, but if she's any indication of the other guides I would highly recommend them. Beware, you will eat a lot of food so come hungry!!!

Superb Guide - Today was a fascinating tour. Ostensibly a noodle and dumpling tour, we received a great history lesson on the state of old vs new Shanghai. Our tour was in the old Shanghai neighbourhood network of alleyways called lilongs. In beijing they are called hutongs. This is inside what was once called the French Concession. It is literally right next to multi million dollar apartments and many of the existing lilongs are scheduled for demolition for new high rises. The people living in the lilongs will receive new residences somewhere in the province but will have no say as to the location. This will completely break up some families and friendships when the lilongs are gone! Very interesting. The food tour was broken up by a seminar on the art of tea and it was actually riveting. The food was plentiful and our guide (JIM WANG) was A+.

Secret Noodles and so Much More - I did the afternoon tour with Lu. He was a fantastic tour guide. He knows the area and the history of the place. We went to some fantastic local places that you would walk passed if you didn't know what was there. The food was fantastic. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to understand the older parts of Shanghai better.
