Do it! You’ll regret not doing it! - A must do - the mountains are something else and the walking paths breathtaking. Not for the unfit person I would say. Stairs and paths are narrow. Be prepared for any weather conditions. Staying on the mountain was awesome! My tour guide Tony, spoke very good English and was knowledgeable, friendly and very flexible with any requests. Hongcuo village is a very cool place to visit with the running commentary from your guide

Great tour of majestic Huangshan and beautiful surroundings - My friend and I booked this tour to add to the end of a week-long visit to Shanghai. We were looking to complement our busy city trip with some nature and culture in the beautiful Huangshan. Our tour guide was Mr. Jack. He was professional, kind, and spoke very good English – but above all, he was extremely positive throughout the 3-day tour and passionate to share his immense knowledge about the area. He led our visit to Tunxi Village, Hongcun Village, and the Yellow Mountain very well. My friend and I felt very comfortable with the pace of the tour, and we really liked how Mr. Jack frequently checked in on us to make any necessary changes to our schedule and itinerary in oder to suit our preferences. Mr. Jack picked us up from the train station and introduced us to our driver, Mr. Hu, who drove us to each location safely. Our first stop was a local restaurant on Tunxi Ancient Street called Mei Shi Ren Jia. We were positively overwhelmed with the choice and variety of food available, so Mr. Jack chose several dishes for us. The food was absolutely delicious and we ate calmly without rush. Before driving to Hongcun Village, Mr. Jack walked us through the old but well-perserved ancient street of Tunxi. The highlight of this day was the visit to Hu Kaiwen Ink Factory, where we learned how traditional Chinese ink sticks are made. Hongcun Village was really beautiful and Mr. Jack took some wonderful photos of us and the scenery which he later shared with us. This village was very interesting to explore and I would have liked to stay overnight here if we hadn’t already arranged our accommodation in the countryside. We slept at the Pig’s Inn Boutique Hotel. Absolutely beautiful location and a very unique experience. Mr. Jack arranged a short but wonderful morning bike ride around the countryside before our drive to the Yellow Mountain. The hike around the Yellow Mountain was spectacular. The paths are paved and consist mostly of steps, but there are lots of places to rest and enjoy the view, so it is challenging but comfortable even for people with less hiking experience. We were fortunate to have good weather to enjoy the beautiful scenery and take fantastic photos, but it rained heavily during our sunrise hike on our last day. The hotel we stayed at overnight was big and very clean, and the room was equipped with a heated drying rack for our wet clothes. Mr. Jack stayed with us until the very end of our trip. He and Mr. Hu dropped us off at Huangshan train station and did not leave until we passed the security check. This trip was very nice and memorable because of the beauty of Huangshan but also because of Mr. Jack’s care and passion as a guide. I strongly recommend this tour. Thank you!

Huangshan Trip - My family of three coming from New York to visit my mom in China. The trip to Huangshan was booked in the middle of our trip. The tour was for 3 days. Our guild Tony picked us up in the train station. He speaks very good English and Chinese. My son need English sometimes. Tony and one driver come with a mini van to drive us around. I think it is very convenient to have a car with you, especially in China. There are so many people there. Also in Huangshan area, it is far from the city. The public transportation is not that easy. Tony are very patient with us and very flexible with our rout. We stayed in the hotel in the city the first night. The second day we went up to the mountain. It was raining at that day. Tony stopped at a local shop for us to buy rain coat and shoe covers. The shoe covers was very helpful. Highly recommended if it is a raining day for your. Tony accompanied with us all the way up to the Huangshan. My son wanted to go up some place and my wife just wanted to stay, so Tony accompanied with my son to some higher point. Thanks Tony for that. The next day we come down. We took the cable car up and down. It saved a lot of time and energy so you can walk around on the top of the mountain. Tony also took us to the local village (Old Street) for waling around. He just walked with us and introduced local specials. He did not push or ask us to buy anything. I though that was very special since I heard a lot about the tourist guy asking people to buy things.

Beautiful Place - I love this trip. We went on mid April and weather was cooled. Our guide Alvin is very tentative and knowledgeable. We stayed in The Pig's Inn and it is just a beautiful ancient house very nicely kept and the staff was wonderful. The food was good. Overall, a very satisfactory trip!

The most beautiful part of China - We had an amazing experience with our guide Tony. The mountain range is spectacular, and the views and crowds in early spring (early April) were perfect. The pictures do not do the beauty of the place justice. Tony took us to a restaurant in Huangshan after our Yellow Mountain tour that my wife and I agreed had the best food of our trip. Tony went above and beyond, staying with us until our late evening flight, speeding us through the airport and security, and even sending pictures that he had taken of us after the trip. Tony was great, and so was the tour. There were no "detours" to sites were you get harrassed to buy things like on some tours. One thing, google products (and many other Western internet sites) do not work in China, so don't use a gmail address as your contact address. Go to the Yellow Mountains!

Awesome tour - We were lucky enough to go on a tour with Alvin (four of us, a family) to the Hongcun and Xidi villages and Huangshan, but the true highlight of the tour was Huangshan. The weather can be fickle and unpredictable, and we experienced dense fog interspersed with occasional light rain, but when the fog lifted - it was like being given a gift of tremendous beauty, even more precious for how quickly the views changed. One minute all you see is a sheet of white ahead of you, the next minute, faraway clouds seeping over mountains, and the next, the whole city of Huangshan in the valley spread out below you. Although our parents were older and unaccustomed to strenuous hiking, they were still able to choose shorter hikes to go on and get their fair share of the mountain's beauty. The hot spring at the end of our trip, after two days of hiking of seemingly endless numbers of stairs, was also a surprisingly indulgent and peaceful experience. Alvin was exactly on point when he took us to the hot springs - even though it was clearly a huge (and famous) destination, with more than a dozen different kinds of hot spring baths, we were able to have the hot springs to ourselves for nearly an hour before more people started filing in. Finally, we thoroughly enjoyed having Alvin as our tour guide - he was always prompt, spoke great English (in fact, he juggled speaking both Chinese and English since our group has people who speak both languages with varying proficiency), and was very flexible regarding our requests. An unforgettable trip.

Beautiful location and fantastic guide! - My wife and I visited Huangshan in mid March and it was an amazing experience! The guidance on traveling to and from Huangshan was very helpful. When we arrived our guide Alvin took us to a wonderful restaurant a short drive from the train station where the people were very friendly and the food was excellent. Our driver was courteous and his vehicle was incredibly clean and comfortable. Alvin helped us arrange to store our large bags at a hotel at the bottom of the mountain and even made sure we sat on the right side of the bus to enjoy the views driving up to the cable car. The hike to the top was beautiful and Alvin made sure to point out various landmarks in the mountains along the way. He showed us the best locations to view the sunrise, and took us on a walk to see the canyon the next day. Alvin's tour through Hongcun was very insightful, and we learned a lot about the village and its history. One of the absolute best parts of the trip was visiting one of the tea shops on the Tunxi ancient street. We had a tasting session where we learned a great deal about tea harvesting and preparation, and the shop was absolutely beautiful. We would recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys hiking and learning about regional Chinese history, and we can't commend Alvin enough for his guidance and assistance - truly an amazing guide!

Mt. Huangshan and the Hongcun Ancient Village Tours - Tony was the best tour guide we have ever had. We (family of five) really enjoyed the hiking at Mt. Huangshan and the tour of Hongcun Ancient Village where "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was filmed. We highly recommend Tony for a tour guide. Sincerely, Kevin Garrity and Family

Met all expectations and more - I think we did the 4-day tour...which i would recommend to all, esp. as the weather is not guaranteed at the mountain. The tour started with pick-up from Huangshan North Railway Station - we had spent a few days at Shanghai before going to Huangshan. David Wang was there and we were driven to lunch and then to Hongchun village, where scenes of the movie "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" were shot. The weather was excellent and there were many students at the river drawing the village cottages. We toured the village and went visiting to a school and a few of the houses. Then it was off to the bamboo forest (also featured in the same movie) where they had recently opened a glass bridge. We also went thru another village where residents actually lived, and we saw a villager digging up bamboo shoots (yep, these are the edible ones serve in restaurants) from the forest floor. Very interesting as this was my first time seeing a raw shoot. The day was not over yet. After putting down our stuff at the hotel, David came for us again to bring us to the Old Street for dinner - the restaurant looked like ones of the featured in Chinese kungfu movies. This was followed by window shopping. The next 3 days was spent visiting Huangshan mountain. We were very lucky to have stayed 2 nights. The first day was rainy and foggy, can't see a single thing. The 2nd day at the mountain, we had sunny weather that one could see everything. Then again, the magic of Huangshan is not just the mountain. One would like to see the mountain, covered partially with clouds, similar to the Chinese paintings. The 3rd day, we got our wish. At each of the location, we had to wait for about 5-10 minutes for the clouds to clear and then we have about 30 seconds before the clouds cover the mountain again. But it was all worth it, the top of the mountain just visible above the clouds...beautiful! Highly recommended.
