Highlights

Trek Santa Cruz / Huaraz / Cashapampa / Laguna Ichiccocha (3,900 m)

Huaraz - We will depart very early in a private minivan, heading north of Huaraz and passing through its typical villages in the Huaylas alley. After approximately 3 hours, we will arrive at Cashapampa, where the Arrieros and donkeys will be waiting to transport our food and equipment. Our hike begins through a narrow valley, initially close to the white river, until we reach our Ichiccocha camp at an altitude of 3,900 m (approximately 3 to 4 hours).

Ichiccocha / Laguna Arhuaycocha / Taullipampa (4,250 m)

Alpamayo - We will continue our trek, passing the beautiful Atuncocha and Arhuaycocha lagoons, and admiring the southern face of the snowy Alpamayo and other surrounding peaks such as Artezonraju, Taulliraju, and Quitaraju. We will then arrive at our Taullipampa camp at an altitude of 4,250 m (approximately 4 to 5 hours).

Taullipampa / Punta Unión Pass (4,750 m) / Cachinapampa (3,600 m)

Huascaran National Park - After breakfast, we will continue our hike, ascending to the Punta Union junction (4,750 m) and enjoying views of the white mountain range and the Santa Cruz and Huaripampa valleys. We will then descend to our Cachinapampa camp at an altitude of 3,600 m (approximately 6 to 7 hours up and down).

Cachinapampa / Vaquería / Transfer by minivan / Paso (4,765 m) / Yungay / Huaraz

Huascaran National Park - In the morning, we will pack our things and walk through the Huaripampa community until we reach Vaquería (2 hours). Here, our muleteers will bid us farewell and return to Cashapampa. We will travel by private minivan, passing through the Portachuelo pass of Llanganuco (4,765 m), where we will make a brief stop to appreciate the stunning panorama of the mountain range and valleys. We will then descend through the Llanganuco ravine, visiting the Orkoncocha and Chinancocha lagoons, before returning to Huaraz.

Very well taken care of - so i actually got in touch with Victor in a round about way. i was originally trying to do the Cedros Alpamayo Trek thru a different agency (this agency was great also). it just wasn't financially feasible to do a tour with just me at a group rate. totally understand. so i started searching for another trek to do in Huaraz. i first found Irma at Wayra Travel. she was very helpful and was able to get me signed up for some tours. Irma is based in Cusco whereas Victor is based in Huaraz. so Victor was the one i interacted with more and took care of me and the logistics. Victor also went out of his way to help in anyway possible. the bus company i needed to book to Huaraz didn't take international credit cards. i texted him which bus and which seat i wanted and he bought me a ticket and i paid him back when i arrived in Huaraz. and when i did get in that night, he waited for me at the bus station and gave me a ride to my hostel and didn't expect any money. (i did tip him the next day when i paid him back for the bus ticket). that helped a lot. he also informed me that the date i had originally signed up to do the Santa Cruz trek was going to have more people and offered me a different date with a smaller group. the group i ended up on was only 6 people and 2 left early so it ended up being only 4 people. and for some reason, although i had signed up to do Lake Churup as a group, it ended up just me and him on the tour which was awesome because we moved at the pace i was able to and was the 3rd person at the lake before everyone else arrived. (the attached picture is Victor and I at Churup) so i would totally contact Victor and use his services again whenever i'm back in town.

Incredible Huascarán - CRAZY! The Santa Cruz trek in Huascarán Park is truly something incredible... I recommend contacting a guide directly without going through an agency that acts as an intermediary... Our Guide was extraordinary! Yordi, passionate about the mountains, a truly competent, friendly, sweet and professional guy.. he speaks excellent English and obviously Spanish... you can contact him on whatsapp and he will organize everything for you. This is his contact Yordi +51 962 020 689. If you pass through Peru you cannot miss going to Huascarán park, it is immensely beautiful! ❤️

Adventurerphones - The trip was a very pleasant and novel experience that was also fun and exciting as it passed through several tourist places. The boys enjoyed every moment, especially in the sea.
