On September 4, 1920, the construction of Khai Dinh began and was completed a decade later. Many renowned artisans and craftspeople contributed to the project, using numerous exotic materials. Thus, despite having the smallest total area, Khai Dinh Tomb was the most labor-intensive and expensive tomb of the Nguyen Dynasty.
