Embark on a full-day journey to the outskirts of Huelva, tracing the preparatory steps of Columbus before he embarked on his first voyage, which led to the discovery of the new continent. Our itinerary includes a visit to the Caravel Dock, hosting replicas of the three ships involved in Columbus’s maiden voyage. Besides the ship replicas, the Muelle de las Carabelas Museum’s highlights include an interpretation center, a medieval neighborhood, and Isla del Encuentro. The latter attempts to recreate the native culture of Guanahani Island, Columbus’s first touchdown point on October 12, 1492. We then proceed to Santa María de la Rábida Monastery, where Columbus spent time ahead of his departure for the New World from Andalusia while finalizing his plans. Our final stop is the town of Moguer, where we will tour the Santa Clara Monastery.
