Highlights
  • Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve - Situated on the ancestral lands of the Limilngan-Wulna people, the wetlands of Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve are home to water pythons, freshwater turtles, and a variety of native wildlife, including numerous bird species.

The dam, originally constructed in 1956 for rice seedling irrigation, failed in its agricultural purpose. Today, Fogg Dam attracts tourists and locals who come to observe the rich wildlife in their natural environment.

  • Wangi Falls - Next, we head to Litchfield’s most popular swimming destination, Wangi Falls. Beloved by locals, the water cascades over the Litchfield escarpment into a plunge pool encircled by dense monsoonal rainforest. We will enjoy lunch and a swim here.
  • Buley Rockhole - After lunch, we proceed to the pools of Buley Rockhole for a soothing dip among several small, fast-flowing streams. The water varies from deep plunge pools to shallow rock pools.
  • Florence Falls - Florence Falls is a stunning, spring-fed, year-round double waterfall set within the monsoon forest, cascading into a swimming hole. The lookout from the top offers a panoramic view.
  • Magnetic Termite Mounds - We’ll explore the magnetic and cathedral termite mounds before returning to Darwin, where you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation around 6pm.
