• Great Sphinx - The Great Sphinx of Giza, a famous limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, is one of Egypt’s most celebrated landmarks. Located within the Giza Necropolis, it stands near the Great Pyramids and dates back to around 2500 BCE, during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre. The Sphinx measures 73 meters (240 feet) long and 20 meters (66 feet) high, making it the largest monolithic statue in the world.
