Very impressive day trip – highly recommended - We booked the private day trip from Makadi Bay to Luxor and can highly recommend it overall. The organization worked well, the hotel pickup was on time.
The drive at night through the desert is quite long and a bit strenuous due to the early departure time, but it was definitely worth it. The hot air balloon ride was just fantastic. Despite the night drive we felt safe and well looked after all the time.
In Luxor we had a very competent German speaking guide named Mostafa who accompanied us all day. He was friendly, patient and could answer all questions very well. With him we visited all the major sights in Luxor. Especially the Valley of the Kings and the Karnak temples were extremely impressive and absolute highlights of the day. The explanations were easy to understand and made visiting the historical sites even more interesting.
Small improvement suggestion:
The driver could have informed us a little better in advance about the exact procedure and the individual stops. Above all, it would have been helpful to know that you should take all your things with you at breakfast (especially jackets), as afterwards we went straight on to the hot air balloon ride with another bus. Mornings in December are a bit fresh.
Even if the day is long and starts very early, this trip is absolutely worth it. You get a great insight into Egypt's history and see some of the country's most impressive sights in just one day.

Hot air balloon over Luxor with tours of Valley Of The Kings - The whole trip ran smoothly and exactly to plan.
Our driver Mr Mahmoud ELSaway was on time and the transfer was very comfortable.
The balloon ride was an amazing experience.
We then met our guide professor Ahmed ELsisi who was fun, informative and was a pleasure to be in the company of.
I would recommend this trip but bring very warm clothes for the early morning start!!

Sunrise hot airballoon trip over Luxor - Wow what a trip!! Yes the late night start was tiring but OMG it was so worth it!! Our driver, Mr Mahmoud ELSaway was friendly, on time and helpful, Talkative but also knew when we was tired and to let us snooze in the car!! Arriving at Luxor we had breakfast overlooking the Nile and then met our first guide who took us to the hot air balloons, it was all very well organised (skyline balloons) and even though we had a nervous passenger the whole experience was amazing. After landing we were taken to our private transfer and also met our private tour guide Professor Ahmed Elsisi who is an absolute expert in his field!!. Professor Ahmed was great at telling us the facts but in a way that we would understand and enjoy the tours which made it more enjoyable for us. We felt extremely safe throughout the whole trip and loved soaking up the Egyptian way of life. Lunch was amazing and the boat trip down the Nile was fun which ended our tour on the perfect note!! Even the nervous flyer has said he would definitely do it again!!

Luxor is worth a visit! - We were very pleased with the trip. We were picked up at the hotel at 11:15 p.m. in El Gouna. The ride was very adventurous with several control stops and bumpy asphalt in the well-kept KIA. Our driver Mahmoud drove us very well Luxor. Once there we got a simple breakfast in a restaurant and unfortunately received the message that the hot air balloon ride was cancelled because there was no wind. Quickly they reacted and the tour process changed a bit. We did all the sightseeing together with the guide Mostafa on the west side and were then taken along with a excursion boat (but not on the Feluca) across the Nile to the east side. There we visited the Karnak Temple and then we went to the restaurant for lunch. The food was very good!
Afterwards we said goodbye to the guide Mostafa with driver and the other driver Mahmoud took us back to El Gouna safe and sound. The entire organization, the time management went smoothly (no waiting at pick-up locations, everything was organized in advance). And last but not least, we received a refund of the money for the non-occurring hot air balloon flight.
We can 100% recommend this experience even if it was really exhausting!

Magnificent Luxor - Everything according to plan and expectation. Magnificent balloon ride, private transport and excellent guide. This package had all the essentials: crossing the Nile, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut temple, Karnak (my favorite) and Memnon statue. Balloon ride comes highly recommended.

Fantastisk upplevelse - Fantastic experience!
We were picked up directly from our hotel in Hurghada by our own private, new and fresh car. The driver, Mr. Mossa, drove us safely through the night and let us stop whenever we needed to buy snacks or use the restroom. Before we knew it, we had arrived for breakfast, and after that we hopped on another bus heading to the hot air balloon for the sunrise.
The hot air balloon ride was by far the best part of the trip, absolutely magical and 100% worth the money! After about 60 minutes in the air, we were driven back to our chauffeur, where we were met by our guide and Egyptologist, Professor Ahmed Elsisi.
Professor Ahmed Elsisi guided us through the entire day in a fantastic and reassuring way. He filled the tour with history and exciting facts, and made sure we weren’t approached by street vendors. He gave us free time to explore on our own as a couple, while always being there when we needed him. Very flexible and understanding!
Every time we arrived at a new stop, we were also given an ice-cold bottle of water, which was greatly appreciated in the hot sun. The lunch was tasty, and between all the sights, Mr. Mossa drove us smoothly and comfortably.
We met many friendly people along the way, and we can truly recommend this tour to both family and friends.
When the day was over, our driver took us all the way back to Hurghada.

Wonderful! - It was an amazing tour. Our driver Mahmoud Elsawy is really nice and kind. He bring us everywhere in safe and always ask our feelings in the car. And our tour guide is Ahmed Elsisi… He gave us really nice moments with his jokes. We had a lot of fun with him at during tour. We were really lucky! Thank you for everything.

Perfect experience - The tour was a success from the beginning of the booking. I had a special request and this was picked up immediately.
The driver Mahmoud Elsawy was very neat and quiet and made sure we arrived well everywhere gave us peace of mind.
The tour guide who went with us everywhere was very friendly and understood our wishes well. He respected our ideas and gave us a lot of time to ourselves. He explained things very well and with the right humor. Ahmed Elsisi thank you very much for this!
With them the trip was super!

Legacy Tour – Unprofessional and Unsafe Experience with Ahmed Hamed - Our experience with LEGACY TOUR in Luxor was very disappointing and uncomfortable. AHMED HAMED, the Founder & CEO, personally acted as our guide. From the beginning, he was loud, rude, and unprofessional. He took photographs of us without our consent and continued even after we clearly asked him to stop, which made us feel very uncomfortable. There were also instances of inappropriate physical contact, which added to our distress.
We repeatedly requested to be taken to the destinations listed in our booking, which should have been followed as agreed. Despite this, Ahmed Hamed left without taking us on the Felucca ride that was included in the tour. After reading other reviews, it appears this is not an isolated incident.
We also repeatedly requested that the money for the missed Felucca ride be given to the driver, who was polite and professional, but our requests were ignored. Additionally, during the hot air balloon experience, a photographer was sent to take our pictures. Despite declining multiple times, we were repeatedly pressured to pose.
While we tried communicating our concerns and refund requests to both the company and Viator, these messages were not addressed, and we continued receiving prompts to leave a review instead.
We regret booking this tour and are sharing this experience so other travelers can make an informed decision. Due to how this situation was handled, this will be our last time booking through Viator.
