everything was perfectly organized. - The trip was perfectly organized by Amal from Marsa Alam Tours. We had already booked everything from home and all of our special requests were taken into account (e.g. small changes to the tour, German tour guide in Cairo). We were picked up from the hotel at 2:30 am sharp in an almost new SUV. The driver Mohamed was very professional and brought us safely to Cairo and back. Another highlight was the tour guide Mohamed in Cairo. We had a wonderful guided stay at the pyramids, which we were able to plan flexibly with him and according to our wishes. We learned a lot about the history, background and current topics from him. It was really great! Big praise to everyone involved in the trip. We would love to do it again!

Private Hurghada-Cairo Airplane Tour - We booked a private couples day in Cairo by plane departing from Hurghada. Tasneem took care of our reservation and answered any questions we had. We received our plane tickets a few days before the visit. We were picked up the same day at 3:45 a.m. from our hotel, taken to the airport where we flew to Cairo. A second driver picked us up at the airport in Cairo and we left for the pyramids to join our guide who spoke French. Given the intensity and randomness of driving in Egypt, we were very happy to have an experienced driver who drove very well. Our guide, Lazem (maybe I spelled it wrong😬) spoke French and was warm, knowledgeable and friendly to us. We saw the pyramids, the sphinx, Lazem took beautiful photos for us, advised us which activity to do or not... he listened and adapted to our needs. We visited the papyrus museum, we even had a demonstration in French of its manufacture. After a good lunch, we allowed ourselves a small deviation from the program to go boating on the Nile, Lazem did his best to meet our needs and give us a tailor-made tour. We finished with the Egyptian museum which was filled with breathtaking artifacts, always accompanied by Lazem who showed us the most emblematic pieces of the collection and told us lots of interesting facts and stories. Afterwards they took us back to the airport, where the plane was more than an hour late, and without battery and without information from the airport staff we were really worried about getting back to our hotel. However, on our late return to Hurghada, our driver was patiently waiting for us and we were able to return to our hotel despite this inconvenience. To conclude, we saw several groups of tourists accompanied by guides, but we felt really safe and relaxed with ours, we are very happy to have chosen this company and we had a great time!

Perfect tour to see the Cairo highlights. - Our family of four opted for the Private Tour to Cairo from Hurghada. Pick up at the resort was at 3:00 am and arrived right on time. Turned out we got two drivers, which was just perfect because it was a very long drive. We had brought breakfast packed by the resort. During the drive we had several stops at Police check points, some were short and some took a little bit longer. During most stops, there was the option to use the restrooms. Make sure to bring small change because usage is not free. The spot were you pay, usually also has the toilet paper in the form of heavy duty wipes. All the restrooms we used, were clean! We arrived in Cairo a little before 10:00 am and picked up our Egyptologist and Guide Adam. After a little introduction, Adam took us to the pyramids and started telling us about them. He gladly answered any questions we had. He also was very willing to oblige and take photos of our family. We walked around the pyramid of Khufu a bit and then our drivers took us a little bit further up the hill. A perfect spot to take a photo of our family with the three main pyramids in the back ground. We had decided that we did not want to go to the Old Bazaar later in the day and would rather spend more time at the Egyptian Museum. This was no problem. Adam did give a couple of less touristy options (papyrus museum, or a jewelry store where you could have Egyptian cartouches made). After the pyramids, we drove to the Sphinx. It was quite crowded there and Adam said it would be difficult for him to talk to us while going through the narrow walkways. But he found a perfect spot in the temple area to give us information and history. We were able to explore the grounds by ourselves and meet back up with him near the exit. After the pyramids and the sphinx it was time for lunch. We got taken to a local restaurant where we got to enjoy a simple but lovely Egyptian lunch. The restaurant also had a great view of the rooftop pigeon towers that you can see on top of a lot of Cairo houses and we saw some formation flying in action, neat! The staff was nice and attentive. Restrooms were a bit older but there was a lady in the ladies room making sure everything was clean. I gave her small tip and she gave me a smile as bright as the Egyptian sun. Our drivers swiftly took us through Cairo traffic to the Egyptian Museum. Adam walked us through the whole museum, stopping at interesting artifacts and giving us history and back stories. This museum building is old and at some parts the floor had pot holes in it. Apparently they are currently building a new museum, closer to the pyramids. The Grand Egyptian Museum will most likely open Late Spring 2024. While we were leaving the museum, Adam let us know that our payment did not go through. My husband had informed his contact at Marsa Alam Tours before the tour date about difficulties going through their payment link (you click the link and it takes you through a payment screen in which your credit card company ends up giving you a robo call to confirm you are indeed making a payment to Marsa Alam Tours. They give you a 6 digit code you have to enter in the link screen) but they did not react to that. We ended up going through the payment process successfully while being in a parking lot with cellphone service. Not the best experience. Apparently Marsa Alam Tours cannot process credit card payments directly. We also ended up paying processing costs. But the payments issues were the only negative thing in this whole day. The trip back to Hurghada went a little bit quicker because we got waived through at most of the police check points and our drivers dropped us off at the resort a little before 9:00 pm. We really liked that we did not have to do anything but enjoy the experience. Marsa Alam Tours took care of the rest. Also extra compliments to our awesome drivers!
