Quad tour through desert with BBQ and Bedouin village - We did the tour with Mina today. We were picked up on time as agreed and Mina accompanied us through the desert. It was a great experience and Mina spoke very good German. He took plenty of time to explain everything and was professional at all times. We can only recommend this tour. Top notch.

Excellent tours - The tour guides in Hurghada are very knowledgeable and passionate about their work. You can ask them questions about a wide variety of topics in Egypt at any time. Through their guidance you learn a lot about Egyptian culture and history, which is an unforgettable experience. Their kind nature is definitely admirable! The tour guide Mohammed Osman in particular is one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable tour guides.

Wouldn't Do This Again - 1/8/23 5 hour Quad Bike Trip from Hurghada. Private trip. This was pretty average if I'm being totally honest. Booked it as a family trip (children aged 10 & 12). We were already aware the children would not be able to drive their own quads due to their age. Our guide was called Hani. Contacted Memnon a few days before the trip to inquire if there was anything we specifically needed to take/wear for this trip. We were advised that we only needed desert scarves but if we didn't have them they could be purchased at the Scorpion Safaris base when we arrived (I had already purchased these in the UK beforehand). We were collected from our hotel promptly and traveled into Hurghada to collect Hani before heading to Scorpion Safari for the quad. Take extra water with you although water is supplied on the transport vehicle. Once we arrived we were told the our 2 children would not be on the quads with us but on the back of the guides (we had 2 guides - Hani and another for the quad biking bit). Helmets are included. You have to fill in a waiver, which has a list of safety instructions - this would have been useful to have been sent in advance as it explains what you should wear. I don't not understand why Memnon didn't send this when I contacted them prior to trip. You set off for approx 30-40 mins, with a short stop (5 mins) for photos and drink before arriving at the Bedouin village. As my children were sat behind the driver the heat from the quads engine blast out the right side causing burns on their lower leg. I would strongly advise you wear trousers for this experience and not shorts. You need glasses (sunglasses) and wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. You arrive at the Bedouin village, this felt very staged and not a true reflection of how these people actually live. It is very tip orientated, so have some small note available (USD/EGP/Euros - all accepted). You are first offered a small cup of Chi (tip the server). This is very hot and served in glass cups so young kids need to be careful. From here you are taken to see Bedouin women making flat bread (leave a tip) and then you can have some to try. You then go for the camel ride - the bit my children were most excited about - however this bit was the most disappointing. You are on the camel for approx 5 mins in total. The camel ride is about 30 meters in a a paddock and then back again. The men leading the camels will take photos on your phone for you (need a tip). You are then taken to the 'pharmacy' where you can purchase items made by the Bedouin people - herbal remedies, tea, jewellery etc. There is also a small shop serving canned drinks and water - very expensive! Back on the quads and go back the way you came. We explained about the childrens' legs and they hooked them around the drivers waist to avoid the hot air from the engine causing any further burns. Once back the base (and you've tipped the second quad guide) you then sit for your meal, this is a buffet style (they do not like it if you ask for seconds!) You can purchase dessert from the shop along with extra drinks if wanted. There are a few souvenir shops who come to your table to offer you their goods, they are friendly enough and you don't feel obliged to buy anything. Then you are entertained with dancing before the trip comes to an end and you are back on the transport heading to your hotel (obviously tipping Hani and the driver!) It was an average trip but I think there are some really other good trips available that I would suggest you look at first.
