Muscat-Ibra-Wadi Bani Khalid - Wahiba Sands (Camping)

Ibra - In the morning, the tour guide will be ready to meet you at your designated pick-up location. Today, the journey takes us to Ibra, where we will explore the ancient part of the town, which dates back nearly 1,000 years. Constructed from mud and limestone, this village offers a unique walking experience. Although not entirely abandoned, some residents still call it home.

Wadi Bani Khalid - From Ibra, the adventure continues to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s largest and most stunning wadis. Upon arrival, a brief 10-minute walk (walking shoes are recommended) leads to sparkling, clear blue water pools, 9 meters deep, ideal for a refreshing swim, sunbathing, and relaxation amidst the picturesque Wadi Canyon.

Wahiba Sands - The journey proceeds from Wadi Bani Khalid to the breathtaking Wahiba Sands desert. Spanning 12,500 square kilometers, also known as Al Sharqiya Sands, this desert region in Oman is named after the Bani Wahiba tribe, divided between the northern and southern governorates in the Eastern Region. The area stretches 180 kilometers (110 miles) north to south and 80 kilometers (50 miles) east to west. Enjoy the mesmerizing sunset over the dunes and savor a dinner prepared by our guide under the stars.

Wahiba Sands-Wadi Shab-Fins Beach-Sinkhole-Muscat

Wadi Shab - After witnessing the sunrise and enjoying breakfast, we bid farewell to the desert and head to Wadi Shab. This vast canyon gorge, adorned with palm trees, showcases the impressive power of water descending from the mountains. A 45-minute hike through the canyon (walking shoes are recommended) leads to crystal-clear water pools. Visitors can swim through the warm waters from pool to pool, eventually reaching the final pool, where an opening among the massive rocks allows entry into a stunning crevice cave with a small waterfall inside. Sunlight filters in, turning the water a beautiful turquoise blue as it cascades down one side of the cave from the Wadi beyond.

Fins Beach - From Wadi Shab, we stop at Fins Beach, also known as White Sands Beach, which offers a breathtaking view of strikingly white sands and a fascinating pebbly beach, with sparkling turquoise waters and a gentle, cool breeze.

Bimmah Sinkhole - From Fins Beach, we travel to Bimmah Sinkhole, a water-filled depression in the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate in Oman. This turquoise lake measures 50 meters by 70 meters wide and approximately 20 meters deep, located just 600 meters from the sea, between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah village.

The sinkhole was formed by the collapse of the surface layer due to the dissolution of the underlying limestone. To preserve the sinkhole, the local municipality has developed a park there, and swimming in the sinkhole lake is possible. From the sinkhole, we return to Muscat.
