- Ormana - The Roman Empire is when Ormana’s history began; “The name of Erimna is mentioned in historical books. The city was ruled by the Persians from 223-212 BC before being given over to Alexander the Great in 334 BC.
Erimna came under Seljuk control after the Seljuk sultan Alaaddin Keykubat captured the area in 1226. The caravan routes from Konya to the Mediterranean during the Seljuk era passed through Ormana territory. This era is represented by the “Tol Inn,” which was constructed along this road and is now in ruins at Eynif.

Our pick up starts a 7:00 in the morning. We drive to Altnbeşik Cave, which is situated in the Taurus Mountains and has been designated a region of international importance by UNESCO. The settlement of Ürünlü, historically known as Unulla, contains the Altnbeşik Cave, which was made into a national park in 1994. It is the only “Cave National Park” in Turkey.
We travel to the village of Ürünlü after exploring the cave by boat. We see the village’s buttoned homes before continuing to Ormana to see button dwellings. The two-story wooden cottages are where you may find the best specimens of wood carving which are constructed without the use of cement or nails from the region’s abundant limestone, as well as the two-story timber buildings that are plastered with chaff-added white soil.
We stop for lunch (optional meatballs, chicken, or pita bread and one drink). Later we reach Sarhaclar for a souvenir Tour in front of a thousand year old tree which has a trunk diameter of 24 meters.
