So Good we went back and did it all Again! - Sergio and his team were outstanding! They were incredibly responsive to all our questions, which was so reassuring as this was our first time trying any snow sports... on sand!
We tried it all, and it was such a fantastic experience that we returned the very next day to switch from sandboarding to traditional skiing.
The highlights were not just the activities but also the whole experience: the team’s friendliness, the thrilling dune buggies, the breathtaking dunes, and the perfect way to end the day—relaxing while watching a stunning sunset.
An unforgettable adventure, not to be missed! Highly recommended!

Awesome adventure! - It was so much fun and not as scary as it seems. Highly recommend, the guides were very sweet and helpful!! They give you a great and professional experience. I highly recommend trying this unique experience, even if you have never snowboarded before.

Fun, fun, fun! - What fun that was skiing down the sand dunes! Worth the money and definitely recommend doing it!! No one else was skiing so I basically had the dunes for my own!

Best excursion in our life ! - Definitely the best excursion we have done in all our trip ! Not only we had so much fun going up and down the dunes in a buggy but we were able to try our favorite sport (ski) on sand instead of snow. We did at least 8-9 slopes..some of them were big enough to scare my 10 year old who has been skiing since he was 2 ! Lol ! To top it off, watching the sunset at the end of the day was beautiful. I also have to mention the young personnel was so polite and helpful. For real skiers I definitely recommend paying a few bucks more to try snowboarding or skiing with authentic equipment.

Great experience but didn't get many photos - I had never snowboarded before but the boys who work at Sandboarding Peru were confident i would be fine. They fitted me with all the proper gear. We headed out to a small dune to learn how to sandboard. Aldahir was a wonderful teacher and an amazing Sandboarder. We also took a dune buggy and went for a wild ride. We were completely strapped in and safe. We went to about 5 dunes to sandboard which was plenty. It can be exhausting. We also got to watch the sunset on the dunes. I highly recommend this company. They also are helping the local community and children so it’s worth every penny.
The only issue is that I was told that I didnt need to bring my GoPro because they will use theirs. So I think there were great action shots taken with the company GoPro but I didn't see many of them. I would suggest you bring your own camera even though the sand may get in it. If you don't, back at the office, make sure they take the time uploading your photos because there were so many pictures taken but only 10 on my memory card. Ultimately, I loved the experience. I would just do things differently.

THANK YOU - This review is unique because of what our guide, Aldhair did for my family. We we're excited to sand ski but unfortunately my mom had an emergency and needed immediate medical attention. Our guide remained calm and had others assist us in getting my mom as quick as possible to a nearby clinic. He went above and beyond to get assistance and had a friend drive my dad and sister to the hospital where I was with my mom. A van picked us up to drive us quicker, and we were not charged for any of it. They waited in the waiting room while my mom was being attended to and helped in any way possible to assist us. They went above and beyond despite it being out of their control. Even though we didn't ski long and had to leave quickly, we couldn't have received care without their help. Thank you for your assistance in helping my mom and my family. We can't thank you enough for all you did!

Fun adventure - Fabulous adventure. Aldahir was an excellent instructor and guide. Our boys were able to ski five sand mountains, and we all shared in the adventure in 10-person ATVs which drove visitors and skiers to the top of each hill, then drove down to meet them at the bottoms. The ATV’s were like being on huge roller coasters! Aladhir made Go Pro videos of the skiing and sent them subsequently over the internet. Huacachina is a very cool oasis, worth a visit in and of itself.

Once in a lifetime experience - I contacted them before my trip to Peru and they were very helpful in planning the activity. Once we got there, they were ready to take us up the dunes. The dune buggy ride was fun, the skiing was a once in a lifetime, bucket list, activity. Loved the whole experience! The videos and pictures they give you are high quality mementos of the whole experience! I would recommend them to anyone wanting to sandski or sandboard, or even just go on dune buggy rides.

Dangerous - It is important to stress that I support self motivated businesses especially run by young people.
However, my view as an oldie will be different from the youngsters including my daughter.
I booked a private tour for 3pm (arrive at 2.40). On the day we are messaged to arrive at 3.15pm but we don't leave the shop till 4pm. Bearing in mind we were on a day trip from Paracas, we didn't want to drive back in darkness.
Instead of a private group (and we chose the most expensive rate) we are a mixed group of 6. The other 3 are staying locally in town.
Next after an upfill dune walk to transport, we wait for ages for the buggy, despite there being being many unused ones.
The driver drove at speed over a blind summit and smashed it into sand/rock. One passenger had a nose bleed from hitting the seat in front. My seat tipped forward and my knee hit the metal dashboard and my teeth collided. Luckily my dental work from previous damage survived intact, but knee/ankle remain sore. In view of the delay in getting rescued, especially when the tow rope snapped, we drove back in total darkness at speed with only dipped headlights. Had the driver learned nothing from the crash?
As to skiing, it's fun but you are much better off going down a steep drop at speed in a straight line. Our first slope was gentle and despite pointing straight down there was no movement. Once I got going, trying to turn at such a slow speed with so much friction proved too much for my previous injured knee. I am an experienced snow skiier. Whereas 25yr old had no issues.
I have no complaint about the skiing. But organization is below par and the driving dangerous. The seat belts are not like a car, which retract on a coliision. They are more like an aircraft. So strapping in tight does not work if the seat tips forward! The UK govt website warns of Dune Buggy injuries and now I know what they mean.
I requested that the collision and injuries were reported to their insurers, nil heard, I suspect there is none. I also doubt if travel insurance would cover it.
The other 4 in the party enjoyed it much more than us 2 oldies.
So do book with eyes wide open!
