Incredible 2-Day Ice Cave and Glacier Adventure - Incredible 2-Day Ice Cave and Glacier Adventure I had the pleasure of going on the 2-day Ice Cave, South Coast, Glacier Hike, and Glacier Lagoon tour, and it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, this tour was well-organized, thrilling, and absolutely beautiful. On the first day, we explored the stunning ice caves – a surreal, almost otherworldly experience. Our guide, Max, was fantastic. He was not only knowledgeable and passionate about Iceland’s natural wonders, but he also made sure we felt safe and comfortable while navigating through the crystal-clear ice formations. Max's enthusiasm for the landscape was contagious, and he shared fascinating insights along the way. The hike was moderate but rewarding, and we were lucky enough to have great weather that made the colors and textures of the ice cave even more breathtaking. The second day focused on Iceland's South Coast, with visits to iconic sites like Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls. These locations were just as stunning in person as they appear in photos, and we had plenty of time to take it all in. The highlight of the day was the Glacier Lagoon – a truly magical spot. The icebergs floating in the lagoon were absolutely mesmerizing, and we even got the chance to take a boat ride among them, which felt like something out of a dream. The tour was well-paced, and Max made sure we were comfortable and had all the gear we needed. He was friendly, professional, and made the experience even more enjoyable with his great sense of humor and personalized approach. We also had time to sample some local Icelandic cuisine, which was a great touch. If you're looking for an adventure that combines stunning landscapes, adrenaline, and the opportunity to see some of Iceland's most unique and spectacular features, this tour is a must. And with Max as your guide, you're in for an even better experience. Highly recommend

Iceland is Wild! - This tour was a perfect way to experience some of the most beautiful places in Iceland. The glacier hike took us through a crevasse and into an ice cave where you can see layers of volcanic ash in between layers of ice. The guides allowed us to take our time and provided lots of interesting facts about the formations. Diamond beach is an absolute must and the basalt columns at black sand beach. The tour was made all the better by our phenomenal guide, Branimir. He kept us on time, kept us safe, made sure we were always comfortable and gave us great advice for making the most of each stop. Along the way he made sure to highlight old lava flows, glacial outlets, and lots of waterfalls while telling us all about this beautiful country. He even stopped to let us pet some horses. Best tour ever!

Great bang for the buck! - This was a great tour and i highly recommend it! Our tour guide Branimir was amazing, full of good advice and interesting information, he was very flexible and also took us places that were not on the itinerary but were really beautiful. We were also very lucky weatherwise, we had calm sunny weather on the glacier hike, bright sun on Diamond Beach and we also experienced gale-force winds on the Reynisfjara beach that matched the black sands and basalt columns. The tour was very well designed and although we drove a little over 400km each day, we never got bored, we had very well thought stops, we ate at nice places and the landmarks we saw were amazing. The glacier hike was one of the best things i did in my life, especially walking through the crevasses in the glacier. We did see a small ice cave, but the crevasses were the most amazing experience. The guide was nice and helpful and patient and the four hours of the hike went by very quickly and nothing was dangerous or strenuous. We spent the night at a guesthouse with comfortable rooms and really good food for dinner, and the location was wildly beautiful. We even saw the Northern lights -more muted than they look in pictures, but the forecast was really against us. Overall it was a great experience and i highly recommend this tour! It gives you a good idea about how southern Iceland is like, and it left us with amazing memories and pictures.

Excellent 2 Days! But you need to be fit! - First of all, let me say that I knew exactly what I wanted to see on the south coast. The only way to see it all is to do a two day trip. Our guide was Jon, and he picked us up one time in his comfy minibus. He gave us details throughout the trip and historical important facts that were helpful. I feel like we had enough time at each location to truly take it in and see everything. The guest house that we stayed at was more of a hostel type place, but it was fine. Great location, right on the beach. Now, what is extremely important for everybody to note is that the glacier hike is not easy! You need to be fit to be able to do this. The glacier that they took us to. We had about a mile and a half hike over Rocky surfaces just to get to the foot of the glacier to start the hike. I admit, I’m not in the most amazing shape, but this part truly kicked my butt! So if you are physically fit, then go for it! All of the sites were beautiful.

Troll canceled tour on short notice but won't issue refund - This may have been a nice tour, but we will never know. Sadly, Troll canceled this tour on short notice due to weather conditions, less than 24 hours before it started. Weather happens, so that was not the reason for this review. Their terms do state they can cancel at any moment for a full refund. The reason is that Troll has not refunded the tour cost, well over a month later. Beware if you book a tour direct at the Troll. Is website and they cancel it for any reason. (Edited: Tripadvisor bot removed screenshots of cancelation email and emails from company. They made a good laugh and a case study for customer service) TLDR Version: After they notified us they had canceled our tour, I immediately contacted Troll at their official email, [email protected], to determine our options. They had no other tours available, so I replied to their email to request a refund. They replied by email with confirmation of the refund to be issued within 3-5 business days. It has now been over 25 business days. Despite numerous emails, they still have not refunded the tour. Best I can tell, they blame it on an error with how they canceled the tour by using a "Web Service". I have no idea what this means, since the tour was booked directly through Troll Expeditions at Troll. Is website, charged to my card directly by Troll, and Troll canceled the tour. My refund request was made by email, directly to their email address, in reply to an email from a Troll customer service agent. All they can tell me is that the decision is now up to their accounting department and the refund is still being processed. I opened a credit card dispute at the first sign there was a problem with the company being able to issue a refund. I later noticed the Troll. Is website booking system is "Powered by Bokun, a Tripadvisor company." Maybe the problem is that they use a third party service on their own website that prevents them from issuing refunds? I don't know. What I do know is that any other refund we receive from tour and travel companies is processed immediately. It is neither the case that we booked through Tripadvisor (or other company), nor that we initiated the cancelation that required approval for a refund. Everything was direct with the company, and they canceled the tour on short notice. Again, buyer beware if Troll cancels your tour. We've done a lot of travel and booked many tours. Sometimes they get canceled, it happens. This is the first time we've been unable to get a refund in a reasonable time, 3-5 business days according to their own email. This is also the first time we had to resort to a credit card dispute, one that Troll has acknowledged but still not resolved. They claim the credit card company is to blame now, but the credit card dispute department says they are waiting on Troll to resolve the refund. The excuses are still coming, such that I wonder if the company is having financial difficulties and simply can't resolve the dispute. I will also mention that prior to the tour, their customer service arranged to have a pickup at our hotel along their route in Hella, returning us from that hotel to Reykjavik the next day, after the overnight tour. Due to their cancelation, we were left without hotel or transportation to Reykjavik on short notice. This was compounded by severe weather conditions expected the next day. Their customer service was unwilling to provide or help locate replacement transportation, and we were unable to find a service willing to do this. Ultimately, our hotel was able to locate a transfer the morning of the canceled tour that returned us to Reykjavik before the severe weather, though at significant extra cost. Pending the refund or dispute resolution, we are out $1325 for the tour and roughly an extra $325 for the transfer we had to get on very short notice, as a result of the tour cancelation. I wouldn't have even bothered to complain about the unlucky transfer issue, if it hadn't been for the ongoing issue with the tour refund. I don't leave many reviews on Tripadvisor and try to avoid negative reviews, unless a company goes out of their way to make it negative, like this.
