Morning pick-up service is available between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. from hotels or other selected locations in the Yogyakarta area. The journey begins with a drive to Magelang Regency to visit and explore the Borobudur Temple. Located 42 km northwest of Yogyakarta, Borobudur is renowned as the world’s most famous Buddhist monument, constructed during the peak of the Syailendra dynasty in the early 8th century.
After exploring Borobudur, there is an opportunity to visit other smaller Buddhist temples nearby: Pawon and Mendut. These temples are believed to be aligned in a straight line with Borobudur.
The next destination is the Kaliadem area, located on the southern slope of Mt. Merapi, approximately 5 km from the summit. Kaliadem is well-known as an excellent spot for viewing the Merapi volcano. Visitors can enjoy a 4WD jeep tour around the area, which was once affected by Merapi’s eruptions. The tour includes a visit to an old bunker and offers a refreshing atmosphere with stunning views of the Merapi volcano.
After lunch at a local restaurant, the tour continues to the Prambanan temples and the Sewu Temple complex. Prambanan is recognized as a Hindu temple and is the largest concentration of ancient sites ever discovered in Indonesia. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful sunset at the Prambanan area.
