Fes to Erfoud

Ifrane National Park - The journey begins in Fes, with departure set for 8 a.m. The route passes through Azrou, where Barbary apes can be spotted in the forested surroundings. The trip continues with a lunch stop in Midelt, a town renowned for its plentiful apples and other fruits.

The adventure proceeds over the Tizi-n-Talremt pass and through the Ziz Valley, adorned with palm trees, picturesque oases, and breathtaking landscapes. The journey advances to Errachidia and Erfoud, celebrated for its annual Date Festival in October (please reach out if interested in attending). This festival is a captivating showcase of Moroccan traditions, featuring fashion shows with embroidered silk dresses, camel racing, and traditional music. Overnight accommodation is arranged at a nearby hotel, allowing ample time to enjoy the festival.

Erfoud to Merzouga

Erg Chebbi Dunes - In the morning, breakfast is followed by a journey to Rissani to explore the souks. These small markets offer local handmade cloth, jewelry, and more. It’s a great opportunity to practice haggling skills!

The trip continues to a nearby lake and a visit to the Berber nomads for some traditional doumbek music. Lunch is served in an auberge (French-style inn) at the Erg Chebbi dunes. Afterwards, a camel ride to the top of the dunes provides a perfect vantage point to watch the desert sunset.

Back at the bivouac, a traditional Berber dinner is served, followed by an evening of music, and an overnight stay in a nomad tent. Stargazing is highly recommended before retiring for the night, as the sky is free from light pollution.

Merzouga to Dades

Gargantas del Todra - Early risers can witness the stunning sunrise, as the dunes transform from deep reds to brilliant golds, with shadows dancing across the sand. It’s a breathtaking sight worth waking up for.

After breakfast, a walk around the dunes is followed by a departure for Tinghir and the Todgha Gorge for lunch. The route passes through Tinjdad and the Todgha Valley, where the river flowing through the gardens is explored. The journey then continues to the Dades Valley and the Dades Gorges for an overnight stay in a hotel.

Dades to Marrakech

Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou - Following breakfast, the journey to Marrakech begins. The route traverses the Dades Valley, through El Kelaa Magona, known as the Valley of the Roses, and along the road of a thousand kasbahs. A visit to Ouarzazate is followed by lunch in Ait Benhaddou village. After lunch, the famous UNESCO-protected site, a backdrop for many TV shows and films like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones, is explored. The drive continues via the Tichka pass, concluding in Marrakech where the tour ends and farewells are exchanged.
