Review (2023-11-10): Fantastic tour - We had a fantastic trip up into the Atlas mountains with Abdelaziz. Their minibus was very clean, and driven far better than any other excursion we went on during our trip to Marrakech. The stops were good, and Abdel gave us good information as we went. The Tajin at Abdel’s family home was without a doubt the best we tasted during our visit, and he talked us through some really interesting history about his people.
Discovering Berber Heritage: A Cultural Immersion
The Atlas Mountains are not just a natural wonder but a cultural treasure trove. The Berber Family Meal & Agafay Sunset tour, available on both January 4th and 5th, offers a unique opportunity to delve into the rich heritage of the Berber people. Starting at 8:30 AM, this journey takes you through small communities and agricultural lands, where you can witness the daily life of the locals.
In Imlil, you can choose to trek by foot or mule to the village of Armed, the highest in the valley. The path is lined with waterfalls and ancient fields, providing a glimpse into the traditional farming practices that have sustained these communities for generations. A visit to a Berber family home for a shared meal is a highlight, offering not just delicious food but also a chance to learn about Berber culture and hospitality.
Review (2024-12-07): Highly recommend! - Stop scrolling and book this excursion! Mustapha was wonderfully engaging and trip was unlike any other. The hike was terrific (and tbh I’m not exactly in athletic shape!) and the tea, the Berber Village and the dromedary ride was so much fun. Highly recommend!
Sunset Serenity: The Agafay Desert Experience
As the day winds down, the Agafay Desert offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city life. The Agafay Sunset tour continues with a drive to this serene landscape, where the setting sun casts a golden glow over the barren plateaus and Bedouin villages. The gentle breeze and expansive views create a sense of peace and reflection, making it a perfect end to your day.
Enjoy a traditional camel ride and take in the panoramic views from the Kik Plateau, where the altitude offers a unique perspective of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The day concludes with a tea break by the Lalla Takerkoust Lake, a serene spot that supplies Marrakech with its energy. As you sip your tea, reflect on the day’s adventures and the beauty of Morocco’s diverse landscapes.
Review (2024-12-06): Incredible experience!!! - The highlight of our trip to Morocco. Our driver Hisham and our guide Ismail were brilliant. The trip was so value for money. It starts off with trip to the desert and some Moroccan tea. Then we got dressed up and rode dromedaries. After that we saw argan oil making and had delicious Moroccan breakfast. Then we had the most amazing cous cous and tagine for lunch! The cous cous was to die for. Plenty of photo opportunities with the most incredible views in between our schedule. And lastly we hiked up to visit the waterfalls before heading back home. Safe to say we were WELL FED. Food was delicious and the views were so unreal. We saw and experienced so much lots in one day. Cannot recommend enough!!
