As the seasons change and the lake freezes over, the scene transforms into a winter wonderland, with the lake’s surface becoming a smooth, icy expanse perfect for skating, all framed by snow-capped mountains.

• Peyto Lake - Visitors can witness a stunning turquoise-colored lake nestled amidst the Canadian Rockies, where, before the freeze, the vibrant hue of the water—caused by glacial rock flour suspended in the lake—shimmers against the surrounding peaks. Surrounding viewpoints offer breathtaking vistas of this natural wonder in both its vibrant and frozen states, making it a must-see for nature enthusiasts and photographers year-round.
• Mount Rundle Viewpoint - Mt. Rundle could actually be considered a small mountain range as the mountain extends for over 12 kilometers (7.5 mi), on the south side of the Trans-Canada Highway eastward from Banff to Canmore with seven distinct peaks along the way. The third peak southeast of Banff is the highest at 9,675 feet (2,949 m).

Peyto Lake dazzles with its turquoise hue before winter, reflecting rugged peaks. Once frozen, it becomes a peaceful icy landscape, with its wolf-head shape visible from Bow Summit, framed by snowy mountains.
